  • Publication number: 20130284467
Abstract: A pull-type crop engaging machine such as a rotary mower comprises a frame mounted on transversely spaced field ground wheels for movement with a hitch arm extending to a tractor and a transport assembly attached behind the frame for moving downwardly to a transport position so that in the transport position the hitch arm extends from one end of the frame generally in the transverse direction for towing the machine in the transverse direction. The transport includes a transport ground wheel which acts to raise the frame to pass underneath the crop engaging system to support the machine on the wheel, on a second wheel behind the frame and on the hitch. The movement of the hitch and the wheel is connected and started at a position of the hitch so that the machine remains balanced. A shield behind the frame includes a portion which moves with the transport wheel.

  • Patent number: 7181898
Abstract: A machine for collecting and pressing a crop to roll-shaped bales has a crop collecting device and a bale-forming device defining a winding chamber arranged downstream of the crop collecting device. At least a first and a second stationary deflection devices are provided, wherein the bale-forming device is guided about the first and second stationary deflection devices. Stationary guides are positioned between the first and second stationary deflection guides. The bale-forming device, during a first bale-forming phase, travels along a spatially determined movement path and is supported on the stationary guides. The bale-forming device is lifted off the stationary guides during a second bale-forming phase. For compressing a bale to be formed after reaching a preset bale diameter, the bale-forming device exerts on the bale to be formed in a compression phase a compression force in a direction from the exterior to the interior of the bale.

  • Patent number: 7181899
Abstract: A machine for collecting and pressing a crop to roll-shaped bales has a crop collecting device and a bale-forming device with a winding chamber arranged downstream of the crop collecting device. The bale-forming device is guided about first and second stationary deflection devices. Guides are positioned between the first and second stationary deflection guides. During a first bale-forming phase, the bale-forming device travels along a spatially determined movement path on the guides. During a subsequent bale-forming phase, the bale-forming device is transferred to additional movement paths that are independent of the guides and are determined by the diameter of the bale. The maximum bale diameter is selectable by moveable control devices. After the bale reaches the selected maximum diameter, the bale-forming device initiates a compression phase and exerts a compression force on the bale from the exterior to the interior of the bale.

  • Patent number: 7140170
Abstract: A device for determining and controlling a bale length on a pick-up baler for agricultural harvested material has a pick-up device, a feed channel connected to the pick-up device, and a pressing channel with pressing piston connected to the feed channel. A conveying device conveys the harvested material through the feed channel into the pressing channel. The pressing piston compacts the harvested material. A sensor detects a bale growth resulting upon compression of the harvested material during the feed stroke from the feed channel into the pressing channel. An electronic evaluation device is connected to the sensor that supplies a bale growth value to the electronic evaluation device where it is converted into an averaged operand or a statistical operand for determining a required number of feed strokes for reaching the nominal bale length. After the computed number of feed strokes is reached, the binding device is triggered for tying the finished bale.

  • Publication number: 20060254240
Abstract: A self-propelled agricultural harvester has a harvesting device arranged in a traveling and working direction of the harvester in front of a driver's cab. The harvesting device extends with its length in a transverse direction transverse to the traveling and working direction. The harvesting device has mowing and conveying devices that are driven in circulation about essentially vertical axes. Each side of the harvester has at least two of the mowing and conveying devices positioned adjacent to one another in the transverse direction. The devices cut, pick up, and convey as an endless conveyor an upright crop. The crop is fed to an intake area of the harvester exclusively with an area of the mowing and conveying device facing the upright crop. The mowing and conveying devices of each side of the harvester are driven in the same direction, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20060196161
Abstract: A harvester has a harvesting device arranged in a traveling and working direction of the harvester in front of a driver's cab. The harvesting device has first, second, and third parts and extends with its length in a direction transverse to the traveling and working direction. At least the first and second parts are swivel parts that are pivotable about approximately 180 degrees about a pivot axis, respectively. The pivot axis extends approximately in the traveling and working direction, such that the swivel parts are transferable from a working position in which the swivel parts extend transversely to the traveling and working direction into a transport position. In the transport position legally permissible dimensions for traveling on roads are observed. A longitudinal extension of the swivel parts transverse to the traveling and working direction matches at least approximately a maximum legally permissible transport width.

  • Patent number: 6644001
Abstract: An implement combination has a self-propelled support vehicle moveable in a travel and working direction. At least one front-mounted implement is connected to a front end of the self-propelled support vehicle in the travel and working direction. At least one side-mounted implement is connected to a lateral side of the self-propelled support vehicle. A raising device transfers the front-mounted and side-mounted implements from a working and operating position near the ground into a partially raised head land position or into a completely raised transport position. The self-propelled support vehicle has a control and switching device. The front-mounted and side-mounted implements are coupled to the control and switching device such that a command for reverse travel of the control and switching device causes a mandatory raising of the front-mounted and side-mounted implements at least into the partially raised head land position.

  • Patent number: 6594983
Abstract: A cutting device for agricultural harvesting machines, such as, for instance, self-loading forage boxes or baling presses with a conveyor channel, in which a number of cutting blades mounted in rotatable fashion, arranged at least in a single row and protruding into the conveyor channel in a cutting position interact with a driven rotating conveyor mechanism equipped with conveying prongs and aligned along a horizontal axis crosswise to the travel and work direction for the purpose of cutting stalk products. A support mechanism provides elastic support to each individual cutting blade in the cutting position, and a control device releases the support mechanism, thereby allowing all or a number of cutting blades to rotate into a non-cutting position.

  • Patent number: 6594979
Abstract: A self-propelled harvesting machine has an attachment for picking up cut crop or for harvesting stalked crop and a processing device for chopping the crop. A curved spout is arranged downstream of the processing device for picking up the crop at a pick-up location and transferring it to a drop location on a transport vehicle.
