  • Patent number: 5400700
Abstract: A cooking apparatus, comprising a casing (3) produced from a plastic material capable of degrading at a high temperature and which surrounds, leaving a certain space, a metal pan (1), the pan resting on a series of supports (5-20-33) made from a heat-resistant material which are interposed between the upper edges of the casing (3) and the pan (1), and which thus leave between them spaces for the circulation of air (7). The supports (5-20-33) each comprise a head (9-25-36) which is securely mounted on the upper edge (4) of the pan (1) and a body (10-23-34) intended to come into engagement with the upper edge (6) of the casing (3) and comprising a fixing member (11-31-39) with the edge of the casing. The cooking apparatus is particularly useful as a deep fryer.

  • Patent number: 5313035
Abstract: The door of an oven comprises a shell (1) of parallelepipedal shape whose front wall (2) has a large opening having the shape of a parallelogram enclosed by a transparent plate (3). The securement of the transparent plate (3) on the shell (1) is effected by fixation members which are formed by holding tongues (P.sub.1 to P.sub.8) arranged respectively on two opposite sides (9 and 10) of the edge (4) of the opening of the shell, while the transparent plate (3) has two opposite sides (24 and 25) bearing projections (S.sub.1 to S.sub.8) adapted to come into securement, by sliding, respectively beneath the holding tongues (P.sub.1 to P.sub.8). For use in all the doors of household electric ovens.

  • Patent number: 5300745
Abstract: An oven comprises a cooking chamber having a movable door (3) hinged on the forward surface (2) of said oven and provided with a hook (4) comprising a nose (5) and a catch (6). The hook enters an opening (9) in the forward surface to actuate a movable locking element (7). The locking element comprises a wheel (20) pivotally mounted on a plate (14) fixed to the forward inside surface of the oven. This wheel comprises a first surface (A) comprising two abutment lugs (22 and 23), a safety lock constituted by a blocking finger (25) fixed on the second surface (B) of the wheel and controlled by a safety spur (24) that projects through an opening (23') transversely to the first surface (A) and adapted, either to come into abutment with stop boss (26) of the plate, or to permit the rotation of the wheel. Application to all closure devices, particularly to a household microwave oven to prevent operation thereof by e.g. a child, when the door is open.

  • Patent number: 5238138
Abstract: Cooking apparatus, e.g. a deep fat fryer, comprising an open housing (1) adapted to be closed by a cover (2) pivotably removably mounted on an upper edge (3) of the housing by disassemblable hinges. A device (5) for automatically raising the cover permits the cover (2) to pass from a closed position to an open position. The hinges comprise two spaced bearings (6, 7) secured to the upper edge (3) of the housing and arranged on a common axis parallel to that edge, as well as two pivots (8, 9) secured to the cover (2) and mounted on the bearings (6, 7). One of the bearings (7) comprises a portion (10) axially retractable against the action of a compression spring (11) so as to permit the separation of the bearing (7) and the pivot (9) so as to unhinge the cover (2).

  • Patent number: 5196674
Abstract: Cooking apparatus such as, for example, an oven includes a cooking chamber (1) having at least one electrical heating element (9) having a tubular envelope (10) of fragile material of the type of quartz or glass which is mounted in supports (16, 17) secured to the chamber (1) so as to maintain the envelope (10) at a distance from the internal wall of the chamber. The tubular envelope (10) is enclosed in a cage (18) whose wall (19) is sufficiently pierced to let pass the infrared radiation toward the interior of the chamber (1) and sufficiently rigid to resist any mechanical shock. The cage (18) is provided with members (24, 25) for securing it to the internal wall of the chamber (1).

  • Patent number: 4910370
Abstract: A microwave oven has a circuit for controlling the supply of electricity to a generator of microwave energy, the circuit having a main switch and movable contact, the opening of which is controlled by a timer. The control circuit also comprises a by-pass circuit mounted in parallel between two points having a pre-programmed timing device in series with the interrupting switch. A commutating mechanism controlled by a user is adapted to both move circuit switch to its open position and to move the interrupting switch to a closed position in which a timing device operates to allow the supply of electricity to the microwave generator.
