    Abstract: A large metal cone cathode ray tube and envelope for the same in which the faceplate is adhered to the metal cone by a frit seal without distorting the faceplate. In some embodiments, a glass neck assembly also is adhered to the metal cone by a frit seal. Readily available glass and metal materials can be used.
