  • Patent number: 4386857
Abstract: An electronic timepiece comprising counters and logic devices, in which the counters are utilized to memorize a variation of rate of the timepiece with respect to a time reference in response to actuation of a control means, and in which the logic devices are controlled by signals delivered by the frequency divider chain and are arranged to periodically effect automatic correction of the variation of rate by an amount equivalent to the value memorized in the counters. The invention relates to a timepiece which permits the user to himself adjust the rate of his watch by means of a simple manipulation not requiring any complicated adjustment of electronic circuits, and which further performs an automatic correction of the variation of rate.

  • Patent number: 4300223
Abstract: The present invention concerns a time-piece comprising a system for detecting the non-rotation of a stepping motor and for making-up lost steps. The detection system comprises a device for measuring the current delivered to the motor, the logic level of the measured signal being used for controlling a correction circuit delivering additional pulses to the stepping motor. The measuring device comprises a short duration measuring pulse generator, a reference signal source, and a comparator having an output which controls the correction circuit.

  • Patent number: 4216648
Abstract: The invention concerns an electronic timepiece including a system for detecting the end of useful battery life. This system is based on a circuit for detecting the length of the driving pulses for the stepping motor, associated with a circuit for shortening the driving pulses. The detector circuit comprises two counters, the output logic levels of which coincide when the voltage of the battery has dropped to a value such that the stepping motor is at its limit of operation, in which case the duration of the driving pulses is at a maximum.
