  • Patent number: 5087139
Abstract: A device for applying a powdery material, suitably make-up, comprising a casing (4) containing a powdery material reservoir (6) mounted displaceably with respect to the casing (4) and dismountably integral with an intermediate part (22) which is integral with an obturation element (16) forming valve (18). The obturation element (16) comprises a stem (17) of a length sufficient to have its free end (17a) accessible from outside the device when the reservoir (6) is dismounted. An easy-to-clean refillable device is thus provided, which facilitates changing the shade of the powder applied during use.

  • Patent number: 4667800
Abstract: The inner race of a clutch release bearing is axially extended to act as an engagement element in a pull-type clutch release mechanism. The engagement element is coupled to the diaphragm of the clutch by means of a sub unit preassembled on the diaphragm and consisting of a piece for acting on the diaphragm and an elastic retention means. The engagement element is coupled to the sub unit by means of a fixing ring which is held in place by the elastic retention means.

  • Patent number: 4660701
Abstract: According to this assembly, the means of fixing in terms of traction, which are used between the engagement piece (25) of the clutch release bearing (10) and the gripping piece (13) attached to the disengaging device (11) to be controlled, comprise, on the one hand, a fixing ring (32) engaged in a retaining groove (33) provided in the engagement piece (25) and, on the other hand, a driving bearing surface (34) provided on the gripping piece (13).According to the invention, that flank of the retaining groove (33) which is axially located on the side opposite the driving bearing surface (34) in relation to the fixing ring (32) is oblique relative to the axis of the unit as a whole. The invention is used, in particular, for clutch release bearings of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4646901
Abstract: The diaphragm spring of a clutch is connected in traction to the release bearing thereof by means of a gripping device comprising a collar held against the diaphragm spring by means of an annular resilient washer. By virtue of the contorted cross-sectional shape of the washer it provides the necessary elastic action whilst allowing a reduction in bulk.

  • Patent number: 4613027
Abstract: The gripping piece (16) used, which allows the clutch release bearing (10) to be coupled to the diaphragm (11), comprises, in one piece, an annular collar (16), by means of which it bears on the diaphragm (11), and retaining lugs (20) which pass axially through the diaphragm (11) and which, to retain it axially on the said diaphragm (11), each carry circumferentially, beyond the latter, a retaining finger (21).According to the invention, the retaining finger (21) which a retaining lug (20) carries extends directly, starting from the axial end of such a retaining lug (20), so that the unit as a whole possesses only one bending elbow (42).The invention is used, in particular, for diaphragm clutches of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4608741
Abstract: In a clutch release bearing an axially acting annular spring bears on a maneuvering member and on a radial rim on a drive member, so as to urge the latter towards a flange on the maneuvering member. The annular spring is adapted to turn inside out during assembly of the clutch release bearing and due only to the drive member acting on it, changing from a first configuration in which it is generally concave to a second configuration in which it is generally convex.

  • Patent number: 4588061
Abstract: In a clutch release bearing assembly, coupling means operative in traction are disposed between a drive member of the clutch release bearing and a coupling member attached to the clutch release device. These coupling means comprise a coupling ring engaged in a retaining groove formed in one of the members and a driving bearing surface formed on the other member. The coupling member comprises at least one peg, and for preference two pegs, each having an oblique ejection surface.

  • Patent number: 4462524
Abstract: The conveyor comprises an assembly of links each of which links comprises two longitudinally extending bars articulated to two opposed trunnions of a cross-member the other two opposed trunnions of which act as an articulation to the bars of an adjacent link. Each trunnion is capped by a carrying or steering roller which rolls along a track carried by a guide rail. The roller includes a rolling bearing having cylindrical rolling elements and in particular needles.

  • Patent number: 4460290
Abstract: The assembly comprises a shaft or any other torque transmitting means, and a coupling element which is of sheet metal and has a hub including a portion provided with an axially extending slot whose width is sufficient to allow an assembly by a relative radial displacement of the shaft and hub. The sides of the hub portion defining the slot are extended at least locally and substantially perpendicularly to the axial plane of symmetry by ears which extend outwardly. The ears cooperate with an attached member which is disposed transversely of the slot so as to interconnect the hub and shaft owing to the action of clamping means. Each of the ears is folded horizontally onto itself so as to form a double thickness of the ear.

  • Patent number: 4436515
Abstract: The device is adapted to ensure the transmission of a movement of rotation between a driving shaft and a driven shaft which are adapted to be rendered respectively rigid with a first universal joint fork member (1) and a second universal joint fork member (6). The fork members each carry elements (11, 12) of the ball joint unit and are connected by spiders (14, 9) to intermediate connecting means (5). Each of the elements (11, 12) of the ball joint unit is constructed in the form of a fork member (13, 14) whose branches are engaged in the branches (3, 8) of the corresponding fork member of the articulation device and in contact with the branches (3, 8) and whose web carries a projection (22) cooperating with a complementary projection (24) provided on the other element (12).

  • Patent number: 4406641
Abstract: The coupling comprises a tubular sleeve (1) having internal splines (3) and a shaft (7) with complementary splines which are fitted in and engaged with the splines (3) so that the shaft and sleeve are relatively axially slidable. In order to reduce angular play between the splines of the sleeve and the shaft, a spring in the form of a plate (9, 9') is elastically jammed between a transverse recess (11) formed in the shaft and the inner surface of the sleeve. The spring plate bears against the recess by a center portion of the plate and against the inner surface of the sleeve by its ends (13) which engage the flanks (15) of two of the splines (3) of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4390303
Abstract: In this device, the bore of the cylindrical hub has a groove in the shape of an ellipse in which is engaged a radial boss obtained by an upsetting of the material of the end portion of a tubular element inserted in the bore so as to ensure both the axial and rotational connection with the hub. The upsetting is achieved by means of a punch inserted in the end portion of the tubular element and bearing against the extremity of this end portion.

  • Patent number: 4385897
Abstract: In the assembly, an elastomeric sleeve is radially compressed between a cylindrical bore of a hub of a universal joint and the outer surface of a tubular element. The outer surface has for example a rectangular cross-sectional shape so that torque can be transmitted between the hub and the tubular element. In order to ensure that the transmission of torque is maintained in the event of failure of the sleeve, a washer, which the tubular element extends through normally without contact and which is fixed to the hub, ensures a rotational driving connection between the tubular element and the hub by a circumferential abutment of the tubular element with the inner opening of the washer when the elastomer of the sleeve is destroyed.

  • Patent number: 4325593
Abstract: A composite bearing comprises a cup having a set of antifriction bearing elements around its inner wall, and a deformable washer disposed at the bottom of the cup. The washer comprises a body portion having a stud projecting outwardly from one side thereof and having a recess in the other side thereof opposite the stud. When the composite bearing is mounted on the end of a shaft, the shaft end pushes the stud inwardly towards the body portion and the stud deforms inwardly to at least partly fill the recess. The deformed pushing of the stud in the recess effectively reduces the reaction force exerted by the washer against the end face of the shaft and eliminates play between the bearing and shaft thereby reducing slapping of the end of the shaft against the bottom of the bearing cup.
