    Abstract: This invention relates to a secondary lid with gripping device used in conjunction with, but not exclusively with, tub like nesting containers that hold margarine. The secondary lid, preferably circular, fits within the container and below the locking or snap on lid of the container. When the secondary lid with gripping device is in place, the original container lid can be secured to the container without obstruction.
