  • Publication number: 20240094427
Abstract: The invention concerns a shoe scanning system for a full-body scanners canning an individual before access to a restricted access area. The system comprises a detection unit (10) comprising: a detector for sensing a metal and/or unauthorized object located above a surface (111) onto which the individual can walk; a communication unit for transmitting a message to an indication unit for providing instructions to the individual and/or to an assistant; and a processing unit connected to the detector by a data link for receiving data and controlling the communication unit for sending a detection signal when the detector indicates a presence of a metal and/or unauthorized object. The detector comprises a short-range sensing element (122) and a long-range sensing element (123) for detecting a metal and/or unauthorized object up to a maximal distance (1231) greater than the maximal distance of the short-range sensing element.

  • Publication number: 20180225774
Abstract: A power consumption metering device for a vehicle that utilizes electrical energy from an external source has a power metering circuit coupled to a main power cable between a power charging port and an energy store of the vehicle to measure voltage and current from the external source, a communications module for data communication, and a controller coupled to the power metering circuit and the communication module having a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the controller to obtain a measurement of the voltage and current integrated over time to determine data for an amount of energy consumed during power charging, store the data for the amount of energy consumed in the memory, establish a communication link with a tax assessment application executing on a client device, and transfer the data for the amount of energy consumed to the tax assessment application.

  • Patent number: 6850630
Abstract: A process for the separation of static and dynamic components of a sequence of images separated in time and taken under the same conditions. The process includes recording a first intensity of a first pixel in at least one area in the sequence of images, recording subsequent intensities for identical pixels to the first pixel in subsequent recorded images, and using pixel intensity sort criteria on intensity changes between the first intensity and the subsequent intensities to discriminate in the subsequent recorded images pixels showing minimal intensity changes from pixels showing larger intensity changes as the sequence process. The process includes forming from the pixels showing minimal intensity changes a part of the static component of the sequence of images.

  • Patent number: 6438253
Abstract: The process according to the invention used for weather radar images is used for dynamic monitoring of cloud masses, particularly to predict future changes. It consists essentially of creating the skeleton of each cloud mass, for several images at different times, determining the displacement vectors for segments of vectorized skeletons, and extrapolation to rebuild the predicted skeletons.

  • Patent number: 5042433
Abstract: Arranged on the hemispherical dome forming the upper part of the bundle of the steam generator is a structure consisting of bows (16) in the form of a portion of a ring and connecting hoops (18). The anti-vibration bars (15) introduced between two layers of adjacent tubes (5) of the bundle are connected, at their outer end, to brackets (17) fastened to the bows (16) in a perpendicular direction. Some anti-vibration bars are fastened to the hoops (18). The anti-vibration bars are screw-fastened to the brackets (17) or the hoops (18). The stabilizing device can also include a comb-shaped anti-flyoff yoke which can be introduced under the tubes placed in the upper part of the dome and then rotated through 90.degree. in order to be fastened to a bow (16).
