  • Publication number: 20110213603
Abstract: The present invention provides Homo sapiens Recon 1, a manually assembled, functionally validated, bottom-up reconstruction of human metabolism. Recon 1's 1496 genes, 2004 proteins, 2766 metabolites, and 3311 biochemical and transport reactions were extracted from more than 50 years of legacy biochemical knowledge and Build 35 of the human genome sequence.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 26, 2010
    Publication date: September 1, 2011
Applicant: The Regents of the University of California
Inventors: Bernard O. Palsson, Natalie Duarte, Scott Becker, Neema Jamshidi
  • Publication number: 20100317007
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for identifying an operational reaction pathway of a biosystem. The method includes (a) providing a set of systemic reaction pathways through a reaction network representing said biosystem; (b) providing a set of phenomenological reaction pathways of said biosystem, and (c) comparing said set of systemic reaction pathways with said set of phenomenological reaction pathways, wherein a pathway common to said sets is an operational reaction pathway of said biosystem. Also described is a method of refining a biosystem reaction network; a method of reconciling biosystem data sets; a method of determining the effect of a genetic polymorphism on whole cell function; and a method of diagnosing a genetic polymorphism-mediated pathology.
