  • Patent number: 5422188
Abstract: A metallic coating on a part made from a ceramic composite is obtained from a powder obtained by mixing two powders: namely,a base powder A comprising 2 to 5% of a reactive element Ti or Zr, at least one melting element B or Si in proportions ensuring a liquidus temperature between 1000.degree. C. and 1300.degree. C. and additional metallic elements including at least 50% Ni or Ni+Co;a powder B in a weight ratio of 5 to 30%, the elements of which are chosen to impart to the part particularly desired surface properties such as anti-wear, anti-oxidation and/or anti-corrosion, and to ensure a liquidus temperature of powder B greater than that of powder A.

  • Patent number: 5383593
Abstract: Method is for assembling a disk fitted with small wings. The small wings are composed of a foot made of an element with the disk and welded blades. The disk and the blades are installed on a rotating template with fixing means in the desired position and elements are merged at the joining surface by an electron gun or similar device. The small wings are successively welded during one or two operations. Screens for halting heating radiation are situated behind the wings to be welded. Rotors of turbines and compressors may be assembled in this manner.

  • Patent number: 5253419
Abstract: A hollow blade for a turboshaft engine, such as a fan rotor blade of large chord, is manufactured by a method in which primary components including two outer metal sheets and at least one intermediate sheet are hot formed so that the components are curved and twisted to a desired shape, diffusion barriers are formed at selected positions on the intermediate sheet, the shaped components are assembled and located on suitable process tooling, the assembled components are diffusion welded together, the welded assembly is internally pressurized by gas to inflate and superplastically deform selected areas to form a hollow in said assembly, and performing finishing operations on the hollow assembly to obtain the hollow blade.
