  • Publication number: 20070073745
Abstract: The method, system, and computer program provides the capability to compute measurements of the similarity between portions of text based on semantic profiles of the text portions. A computer-implemented method of determining similarity between portions of text comprises generating a semantic profile for at least two portions of text, each semantic profile comprising a vector of values and computing a similarity metric representing a similarity between the at least two portions of text using the at least two generated semantic profiles. The semantic profile comprises a vector of information values.

  • Publication number: 20070073678
Abstract: A method of semantic profiling of documents comprises receiving a document to be profiled, the document comprising a plurality of terms, for each of at least a portion of the plurality of terms in the document determining a part of speech and a grammatical function of the term, obtaining senses of the term, selecting a sense as a most likely meaning of the term, and calculating an information value of the term, and generating a semantic profile of the document comprising at least some of the calculated information values.

  • Patent number: 4111075
Abstract: A grinding machine is disclosed for supporting a circular saw for rotation about its own axis. The grinding machine includes a cyclically controlled clamp for successively clamping and releasing the saw; a cyclically controlled indexing arrangement for indexing the saw; a cyclically controlled grinding wheel for moving into and out of operative position and a control mechanism arranged so that the clamp is released to allow the indexing arrangement to index the saw but applied during movement of the grinding wheel through the operative position.

  • Patent number: 3952616
Abstract: A grinding machine having a base on which is mounted a work piece support and a grinding wheel assembly including a rotatable grinding wheel. The grinding wheel assembly is provided with adjustment mechanisms to enable the grinding wheel to be pivotally adjustable about both horizontal and vertical axes; arcuately movable in a direction which is parallel to or included within a plane containing the plane of rotation of the grinding wheel; and moved along an axis which is parallel to the rotational axis of the grinding wheel. The work piece support is also pivotally adjustable about a vertical axis and is adjustably movable along its vertical axis so that for example the teeth of a circular saw blade forming the work piece and mounted on said support can be ground by the machine.
