  • Patent number: 8453306
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method used to upholster a box-spring frame. A textile tape with a portion encapsulating a draw cord is sewn to the inner perimeter of a border material. The other edge of the border material is sewn to a top cover material. The box-spring frame is placed within this assembly, with the top side of the frame abutting the top cover. This assembly is placed in the attachment apparatus. The attachment apparatus optionally compresses the box-spring frame and is equipped with a pair of tension applicators. Once in place, each of the two draw cord ends are secured to a corresponding tension applicator, and tension is applied to the draw cord. This tension tightens the border assembly edge around the frame. With the proper tension applied, the draw cord is secured to the box-spring frame. The bottom cover is then attached in the conventional manner with a series of staples.

  • Patent number: 7155793
Abstract: The method includes the steps of determining a number of gear teeth for each gear and pinion that, in combination, would produce desired gear ratios. Current gearset parameters including distances and angles relating the positions of the gears and pinions are determined. For a predetermined angular rotation of a selected gear or pinion, and using the current gearset parameters, an error is determined representing a difference in phases of a tooth on the selected gear or pinion into its mesh cycle. A first phase is determined along a first portion of a drive path of meshing gears and pinions, and a second phase is determined along a second portion of the drive path distinct from the first portion. One or more of the current gearset parameters are repetitively changed to determine a set of correspond optimal gearset parameters, for which the error is equal to or less than an acceptable error. Then a gearset having the optimal gearset parameters is produced.

  • Publication number: 20050188521
Abstract: A method for producing a gearset according to this invention includes the steps of producing a first member having a first surface, and a second surface axially spaced from the first surface. On the first surface and second surface a first set of pairs of axially aligned, angularly spaced holes are formed. A short pinion shaft, supporting a short pinion, is placed in each of the pairs of holes of the first set. A second set of axial, angularly spaced holes is formed on the first surface. A long pinion shaft is placed in each hole of the second set and a long pinion is placed on each long pinion shaft. A second member having a third set of holes, each hole aligned with a hole of the second set, is formed. The second is placed the such that each long pinion shaft fits in a hole of the second set. Then the first and second members are mutually secured.
