  • Patent number: 11846438
Abstract: A Heating, Ventilation, and/or Air Conditioning (HVAC) controller configured to control at least part of an HVAC system of a building. The HVAC controller may include a user interface and a controller. In response to a selection by a user at the user interface, the controller may assemble and present via the user interface an output that encodes settings in a machine readable form. The controller may display the encoded settings on the display with fixed segments of a fixed segment display. An application program code on a remote device may be utilized to capture the displayed fixed segments that encode the settings in an image. The captured image of fixed segments may be decoded at the remote device or may be sent to a remote computing device for processing and/or decoding.

  • Patent number: 10660154
Abstract: A leveraged positioning system for installation of devices within campuses and buildings. A mobile device may have a position indicator associated with it. A campus or building information model may be available for reference relative to a location of the mobile device as noted by the position indicator. A location name may be derived from the model and used for an installed device since the mobile device is at the position of the installed device during placement of the installed device. A physical address may be assigned to the installed device. The physical address and the location name may be stored as a pair in memory for the device. Additional devices for installation may be treated similarly.

  • Publication number: 20100251233
Abstract: A system for standalone usage of an embedded computing system user interface on a separate heterogeneous computing device. The system may run the same binary software image as the embedded computing device on a PC platform. Because it is virtually the same exact software image as that which is on the device, the PC-hosted version effectively has full fidelity with the device version. Its user interface is virtually identical in appearance and has full navigation and a richer subset of functionality than would be possible with a simulator. Also, it is not necessary to maintain separate simulation and device software since both environments may use the same binary image.
