    Abstract: A unipolar short-circuiter for high direct current at low voltage permits disconnecting of any of the cells of a series of electrolytic cells, for the production of chlorine or aluminum, for example, without disturbing or interrupting the functioning of the other cells. The short-circuiter according to the invention is equipped with two sets of movable contacts (26,32) controlled by a common shaft (24) and cooperating with two groups of current conductors having a deformable part (3,4,16,17) and cooled by circulation of water in the enclosures (9,22).
