  • Patent number: 4752986
Abstract: According to the preferred form of the invention, a pair of thin wheels is rotatably mounted in the bottom of the body of a caster or other load supporting wheeled device in a bilaterally symmetrical array. Each of the wheels has a downwardly facing outer terrain-engaging surface in the general form of a frustocone, and an upwardly facing inner annular bearing surface which is opposed by a complementary annular bearing surface on the bottom of the body. Preferably one or more antifriction washers are interposed between the wheel and body bearing surfaces. This arrangement provides large bearing surface areas which are located directly above the lowermost apex of the frustoconical terrain-engaging surface so that direct vertical loading is applied through the bearing surfaces to the terrain-engaging footprint of each wheel, thereby avoiding cantilever action, avoiding any need for rollable bearings, and permitting the wheels to be very thin and of extremely low profile.

  • Patent number: 4637149
Abstract: A flag of unitary construction formed from a sheet of flexible, semi-rigid material having a central adhesive section on one side, flanked by two symmetrical adhesive free tabs which are printed so as to facilitate indexing or signaling of flagged material, may be reversibly attached to host material book, file card, file folder or the like proximate a free edge with one adhesive free tab protruding from the free edge host and one tab overlying a portion of the flagged host. The flag may be removed from the flagged host by grasping the adhesive free overlaying tab and peeling the flag outward relative to the free edge of the host without damage to the host, or the flag may be used to flag a section of text not proximate an edge of a host by pressing down the transparent adhesive bearing central section directly over or adjacent to the portion of text to be flagged.

  • Patent number: 4632397
Abstract: A transparent container partially filled with transparent viscous liquid; contains a multifaceted multicolored indicia enhanced game piece, which is greater in specific gravity than the transparent viscous liquid and an air bubble greater in size than the maximum horizontal clearance distance between the game piece and container side wall. When the container is turned relatively end for end the bubble rises, striking the game piece, whereby it rotates as it falls slowly to the bottom of the container, where the top or scoring facet of the game piece is viewed through the transparent container and transparent liquid. The game piece falling time period, being relatively repetitive, may be used for game play timing. The colors and indicia on the game piece facets give the player game playing instructions.

  • Patent number: 4533288
Abstract: A drive fastener designed to be hammered into penetrable material. One end of the drive fastener is split. The opposite end of the drive fastener contains threads. A pair of nuts are threaded together on the threaded end of the drive fastener to receive the impact of a hammering device for driving the fastener into penetrable material. When being driven, the split end spreads while penetrating to secure the fastener in place. The nuts are then removed and a single nut may be used to secure an object to the set fastener.
