  • Patent number: 9115016
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for heating a charge using a flame generated by a lance and/or a burner, characterized in that, in a first phase, the flame is directed towards the charge and in that, in a second phase, the flame is directed more or less parallel to the charge.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 5, 2007
Date of Patent: August 25, 2015
Assignee: L'Air Liquide Société Anonyme Pour L'Étude Et L'Exploitation Des Procedes Georges Claude
Inventors: Nicolas Docquier, Bernard Labegorre, Bernard Zamuner
  • Publication number: 20100068666
Abstract: Burner comprising at least one passage for injecting at least a primary jet, such as a jet of oxidant and/or fuel and/or of a premix of oxidant and fuel, and means of injecting at least one secondary jet of fluid opening into said passage, the interaction between the primary jet and the at least one secondary jet making it possible to vary the direction and/or the size of the flame. Use of said burner for heating a charge with the variable-direction and/or variable-size flame.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 5, 2007
    Publication date: March 18, 2010
Applicant: L'Air Liquide Societe Anonyme Pour L'Etude Et L'Ex ploitation Des Procedes Georges Claude
Inventors: Bernard Zamuner, Nicolas Docquier, Bernard Labegorre, Thomas Lederlin, Thierry Poinsot, Vincent Faivre
  • Publication number: 20100032020
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for injecting at least one jet of fluid, in which the direction and/or opening of at least one of the jets may be variable, comprising means of injecting at least one main fluid jet, means for injecting at least one secondary fluid jet, and means for causing at least one main fluid jet to interact with at least one secondary fluid jet and producing a fluid jet resulting from this interaction whose direction and/or opening are variable; as well as the associated method; and the uses of these.

  • Patent number: 7655067
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for processing aluminum in a furnace consisting in introducing an aluminum-containing material and possibly one or several types of salt into the furnace, melting said material by heating with the aid of at least one burner supplied with a combustive material and fuel in such a way that a molten aluminum possibly covered with a slag containing, in particular alumina and at least one salt is produced and in measuring a carbon monoxide and/or hydrogen concentration in the furnace atmosphere or in a smoke at the exit of the furnace. Oxygen content in the combustive material supplying at least one burner is greater than 10% by volume, preferably greater than 21% by volume.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 7, 2005
Date of Patent: February 2, 2010
Assignee: L'Air Liquide-Societe Anonyme a Directoire et Conseil de Surveillande pour l'Etude et l'Exploitation des Procedes Georges Claude
    Inventors: Nicolas Lucas, Bernard Zamuner
