  • Patent number: 10613506
Abstract: A platform at a communication network is provided for the procurement of control logic. Customer order parameters are obtained via the communication network. The customer order parameters include at least one of: interface connections for the automation controller, interface configurations for the automation controller, and operating characteristics of the automation controller. Control logic is built that conforms to the custom order parameters. The control logic is stored on the communication network. Changes to the control logic are received and the control logic is changed without the involvement of a third party monitor.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2012
Date of Patent: April 7, 2020
    Assignee: General Electric Company

  • Patent number: 8489607
Abstract: A method and system are described for providing context sensitive data to a system user. The method includes the steps of identifying the user and querying databases to create a user context. Information is aggregated from the network databases and filtered using the user context. Providing the correct data needed by the user for that particular time, location and job function.

  • Publication number: 20130176687
Abstract: A control unit for industrial applications is provided comprising a first compute box having a first microprocessor and being configured to run at least one first operating system. A second compute box may also be provided having a second microprocessor and being configured to run at least one second operating system. The first and second operating systems may be the same or different. The compute boxes may be mechanically coupled together or connected via one or more copper or fiber-optic cables, for example. Additional compute boxes may be added to expand the capabilities of each control unit. An integrated or detachable display may also be added. A control system for controlling a plurality of local input and output drops or devices is also provided. The control system includes a plurality of control units that may be distributed around an industrial installation and capable of data transfer between each control unit.
