  • Patent number: 5112091
Abstract: A door holding device for a motor vehicle door includes A door holding rod which is pivotally connected to a door installation member, door or door post. The door holding rod is provided with locking portions for holding the door in predetermined positions and with an end stop for holding the door in an end position. A holder housing is rigidly connected to an other door installation member. The door holding rod extends through the holder housing. A first roller is mounted in the holder housing so as to be rotatable about a rigid axis. A second roller is rotatably mounted on a load-applying arm of a torsion rod spring which rests against the holder housing. The door holding rod extends between the two rollers. The door holding rod has over its entire length which comes into contact with the rollers a rounded cross-sectional shape and the locking portions are formed by at least one bent portion of the door holding rod directed transversely of the longitudinal axis of the door holding rod.

  • Patent number: 4611778
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjusting device for vehicle seats having a threaded spindle (4) and a spindle nut arranged thereon, each of which is connected in an axially immovable manner with one or the other of elements (1, 2) to be adjusted relative to each other. The spindle nut (13) is provided with a full-length (or continuous) channel (20) running parallel to the threaded bore which receives the threaded spindle (4), which channel receives a bar (22) which prevents a rotation of the spindle nut (13) about the longitudinal axis of its threaded bore. The opposing boundary surfaces (21) of the channel (20), which cooperate with the bar (22) are spaced from each other such that at the midpoint of the channel (20) the space is equal to the bar thickness and uniformly increases toward the two ends of the channel.

  • Patent number: 4295682
Abstract: A vehicle seat back adjuster for achieving fine increments of adjustment in the order of 1.degree., without resort to translation overdrive, through employment of reaction backup for teeth in the order of 1.degree. pitch in an adjustment quadrant minimizing yield of components which could permit fine tooth disengagement.

  • Patent number: 4252370
Abstract: A gravity and inertia responsive latch mechanism for accommodating pivotal forward tilting of a vehicle seat back to permit ingress and egress of back seat passengers when the vehicle is stationary without requiring manual release and for automatically preventing forward tilting of the seat back under sudden deceleration such as incident to a front end collision. A spring detent cooperates to resist initial forward tilting of the seat back rendering the inertia latch more dependable under marginal and unusual conditions of operation.

  • Patent number: RE32884
Abstract: A vehicle seat back adjuster for achieving fine increments of adjustsment in the order of 1.degree., without resort to translation overdrive, through employment of reaction backup for teeth in the order of 1.degree. pitch in an adjustment quadrant minimizing yield of components which could permit fine tooth disengagement. .Iadd.An inertia latch per se serves as stop element for seating back rest position as well as arresting element preventing forward tilting under high vehicle deceleration for all positions of adjustment. .Iaddend.
