  • Patent number: 5153849
Abstract: A multiplier in which m-1 place multiplicands can be operated with the multiplier with n-1 place multiplier factors that are represented as binary numbers. In order to achieve a regularly constructed and easily testable arrangement of the multiplier on a chip, one cell (SL) is provided per product place. This cell is composed of AND circuits (UD) for the formation of the partial products allocated to this product place and of adder circuits (AD) for summing up the partial products for this product place. The number of AND circuits and of adder circuits is identical for all cells (SL). Those AND circuits that are not required per product place for generating partial products are applied to 0. Since the individual cells are identically constructed, they can be easily produced from basic circuits and can be easily arranged side-by-side. When a multiplier for multiplicands and multiplier factors having greater width is then to be produced, a further attachment of such cells is merely required.

  • Patent number: 5015035
Abstract: A dental patient chair comprises an arrangement for adjusting the seat height, the inclination position of the seat and the backrest, as well as the position of the seat and backrest with reference to a longitudinal direction of the chair. The arrangement includes two pivotably connected arms having one arm pivotably connected to a pedestal and the other connected to the seat and being provided with a drive arrangement for shifting the arms relative to their pivotable connection to move the seat in both a vertical and horizontal direction, as well as to tilt the seat relative to a base plane. The arrangement includes a control device for operating the drive arrangement for pivoting the arms relative to the pivotable connections between themselves and to the pedestal and seat.

  • Patent number: 4755127
Abstract: The apparatus has a measuring head (34) for contact-free optical monitoring of a swelling (A) of material immediately behind the extruder nozzle (22) or a pileup (32) of material ahead of the calibrating tool (26) of the plant. The measuring head (34) has spaced-apart confronting light emitting and light receiving surfaces (52) and (54). Each of these surfaces is adjacent the ends of a plurality of light conducting elements which extend to a housing (38) for a light sender and a light detector. The light receiving surface (54) is subdivided into a plurality of fields (1-13). A first signal identifies at least one field (2-13) which is located at the level of one edge of the extruded product in the region of the swelling or pileup. A second signal denotes the position of the edge within such field (2-13). A single compensation field (1) serves to ascertain a reference value of the intensity of light.

  • Patent number: 4240643
Abstract: An annular seal for a shaft comprising an annular elastomeric lip 2 having an annular rim 2.1, and an annular reinforcing member 1 provided with a groove into which rim 2.1 fits. The portion of the member 1 spaced from the groove is compressible and in unassembled state is larger than in assembled state, the compression serving to lock the seal together. Multiple lips and/or grooves may be provided.

  • Patent number: 4202555
Abstract: A sealing ring comprises a reinforcing ring composed of thermoplastic material and has at least one annular groove therein and a lip ring concentrically nested in the reinforcing ring and having a circular bead for each annular groove. The circular bead has the same profile as the annular groove and is set therein. Each bead has a profile which in the projecting portion is enlarged in the manner of a wedge extending essentially radially outwardly and a nominal diameter on which each bead is disposed is smaller than the nominal diameter of the associated groove.
