    Abstract: An exhaust-gas treatment unit includes a housing with a first end and an oppositely disposed second end, a tube extending from the first end to the second end and serving as an inflow region for an exhaust gas, a deflecting region in the vicinity of the second end for the exhaust gas, and a return flow region extending between the tube and the housing. In the deflecting region, the exhaust gas is mixed and transferred into the return flow region. A method for mixing an exhaust gas in an exhaust-gas treatment unit and a vehicle having the exhaust-gas treatment unit and carrying out the method, are also provided.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a high-pressure piston cylinder unit, especially an injection pump or an injection valve for an internal combustion engine, and to a method for producing one such high-pressure piston cylinder unit. The high-pressure piston cylinder unit has a piston which is guided inside a cylinder bore and which is coupled to an actuating element. The piston is subjected to a high pressure differential. According to the invention, fine grooves which run very close to one another are configured in at least one part of the guiding surface of the piston. The grooves ensure hydraulic pressure compensation on the periphery of the guiding surface, thus reducing wear, and prevent leakage in a longitudinal guiding direction.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel injection nozzle for an internal combustion engine, especially of a common-rail injection system. The injection nozzle contains a nozzle needle which is coupled to an actuating element that serves to control a nozzle opening process. The nozzle needle comprises a needle point and a valve seat which interacts with the same. The valve seat has a conical sealing surface with an opening angle &agr;1, and the needle point has a conical sealing surface with an opening angle &agr;2. The opening angle &agr;2 of the sealing surface of the needle point is smaller than the opening angle &agr;1 sealing surface of valve seat. An expansion, said expansion serving as a cavitation chamber, of a ring-shaped flow channel, is configured between the needle point and the needle housing in the direction of flow of the fuel following the sealing surfaces of the needle point and valve seat. The cavitation chamber is configured and dimensioned to achieve a targeted cavitation results.

Downstream of the multichannel distributor, in the vicinity of the mixing unit, a make-up liquid inlet passage is connected to a second fuel inlet passage through which the make-up liquid, especially water, is fed to produce emulsified fuel.
