    Abstract: A motor vehicle seat having a sitting position and a backrest, which can be converted out of a sitting position into a cargo position in which they are essentially disposed in a common horizontal plane. The seat has a first arresting device for the sitting position of the backrest, a second arresting device for the sitting position of the sitting portion, and a third arresting device. The sitting portion and the backrest are biased into their cargo position, wherein after release of the first arresting device the backrest is pivoted in a direction toward the cargo position, against the third arresting device, and into a stand-by position, as a result of which the second arresting device is released and the sitting portion pivots into the cargo position, as a consequence of which the third arresting device is released and the backrest pivots out of the stand-by position into the cargo position.

    Abstract: An inclination adjustment fitting for adjusting the inclination of a seat back relative to a seat body and tilting the seat into a release position includes a first and a second actuation element mounted about an actuation shaft, an opposing element secured to the seat back, a ratcheting disk mounted to the seat back and including a plurality of engaging teeth, and a ratcheting block mounted to the seat back and including an engaging surface. The seat inclination is adjusted by pivoting the first actuation element, thereby releasing the engaging teeth from the engaging surface and pivoting the second actuation element and allowing the ratcheting disk to rotate. The seat is tilted to the release position by pivoting the second actuation element wherein the first actuation element remains in its initial position and the ratcheting disk is secured against the seat body by means of the ratcheting block.

Each securement includes a set of elements and structures connecting at least some of the elements of each set with one another and with the support member such that the securements are swivellable in planes defined by the securements relative to the support member between extended positions of use and retracted positions of rest. In positions of use, the securements have U-shaped configurations formed by the sets of elements such that one securement is identical to and a mirror image of the other securement.

    Abstract: A vehicle seat frame includes a locking device that prevents the seat frame from moving during a crash. A first spring holds an inertia-sensitive locking element and an interlocking element in a first position. In the event of a crash, the inertia-sensitive locking element swivels about an axis due to the force of inertia. Contact surfaces on the inertia-sensitive locking element and the interlocking element disengage. A second spring then pulls the interlocking element toward a guide link. A gear region on the interlocking element grips into and engages with a gear region on the guide link. The second spring maintains the tension on the gear regions, even if the force of inertia has dwindled. The locking device can be disengaged only by manually resetting the interlocking element and the inertia-sensitive locking element into the first position.

The lower backrest region can be adjusted with an inclination-adjusting fixture forward into at least an almost horizontal position and the upper backrest region can be adjusted with a hinge fixture into a position inclined in the travel direction.

    Abstract: A motor vehicle seat has longitudinal adjustment tracks, a device for adjusting elevation and inclination, and a seatbelt buckle mounting, which has a first part that is coupled to an upper track of the longitudinal adjustment tracks and a second part that is coupled to the seat part so as to be capable of pivoting and that is guided on a longitudinal guiding surface of the first part so that its position may be freely shifted. The first part has a catch toothing, which is embodied so as to accept a catch projection provided on a second part, such that the coupling point of the second part and its catch projection are arranged on different sides of the first part. The guiding surface is provided on only one side of the first part, and the opposing surface of the second part, which works in concert with it, is held in contact with the guiding surface by a spring until a load limit of the seatbelt buckle mounting is reached.

    Abstract: A locking device for a vehicle seat with a seat frame and a seat height adjustment device has two guide links fixed to the body, with a swivel support on a horizontal axis. The guide links can swivel in different angular positions for adjusting the height of the seat. One guide link has a geared unit for swiveling it, while both the guide links are connected to each other by means of a connecting rod so that they do not rotate with respect to each other. A locking device with an inertia-sensitive element works on the side opposite to that of the geared unit between seat frame and adjacent guide link. A spring working on the inertia-sensitive element keeps the locking device in the normally unlocked position. The inertia-sensitive element is a locking element for latching with an interlocking element.

    Abstract: A hinge fitting for an adjustable seat has a single rotatable handle by ms of which the back rest can be tilted and the height of the seat portion adjusted. The handle is connected to a shaft which can be selectively coupled to one of two eccentrics mounted on an axle which passes through the two hinge parts and one end of a pivotable seat support. One eccentric is coupled to one hinge part which has spur gear areas engaging inner toothings on the other hinge part. Rotation of this eccentric causes the inclination of the back rest to be adjusted. The other eccentric is coupled to a portion of the end of the seat support which is constructed as a three-stage hollow piston having inner toothings engaging spur gear areas on the adjacent seat hinge part. Rotation of this eccentric causes the height of the seat to be adjusted.

    Abstract: A seat includes a device for adjusting the position of a seat part relative o its support. The device is operated by a rotary knob which rotates a pinned disc of a lantern wheel gearing arrangement. The pins of the disc cooperate with teeth of a gear wheel which is connected to a pinion that rolls on a toothed segment articulated to the seat support. The teeth of the gear wheel are constructed so that reaction forces due to contact between the flanks and the pins are directed so as to pass through the rotational axis of the disc. Therefore no torque is applied to the disc and it remains stable.
