  • Patent number: 8713771
Abstract: The present invention concerns an apparatus for use in the assembly of an elastic sealing element on an electrical conductor as well as a method for sheathing an electrical conductor with an elastic sealing element. The apparatus according to the invention has a first pin which performs a reciprocating movement and at the front end of which is formed a cutting tip which, on penetration through a sealing element positioned in front of the cutting tip in the direction of reciprocation and designed as a solid body, produces a through-opening in the sealing element. Furthermore, the apparatus comprises a second pin for receiving the sealing element which has been provided with a through-opening by the first pin, wherein the outer circumference of the second pin in at least one region is larger than the outer circumference of the first pin for expansion of the through-opening produced in the elastic sealing element.

  • Patent number: 4492618
Abstract: A method of disinfecting water wherein electrodes of a copper-silver alloy which are immersed in the water and the polarity of which is changed at certain intervals are connected to a direct current source for the production of copper and silver ions. Sodium persulfate is added to the water for oxidation of organic substances. Said method is especially useful for disinfecting swimming pool water resulting in an easily controllable and effective disinfection of the water without any damage to the human body.

  • Patent number: 4404463
Abstract: An electrical heating device is disclosed for heating a plate which, for example, is used for heating the outside rear view mirror of a vehicle. The heating device includes a positive temperature coefficient resistor constructed as a resistive body in the form of a flat cylindrical ring. One flat surface of the ring is seated upon the plate to be heated which is used as one electrical terminal of the resistor. Another metal plate is seated against the other flat surface of the ring and serves as the second electrical terminal and also as a heat distributing plate for the resistive body. A two part fastening means comprising a headed shank and a press-on nut is provided, with the shank extending through the plates and the resistive body to press them against one another to obtain good electrical and thermal conduction.
