    Abstract: The invention relates to an orienting mechanism (20), with which, even in the case of unfavorable installation conditions at the container (10), a fill level measuring device (16) can be mounted on the container (10) and aimed, such that the line (17) of measurement is perpendicular to the surface (14) of a medium (13) to be sensed. The orienting mechanism (20) enables the pivoting of the measuring device (16) while yet providing a reliable sealing of the interior of the container.
