  • Patent number: 11801675
Abstract: A controller may detect an elevation of a recording medium that is to be printed to, the elevation may result in the printing element of a printing device being negatively affected. The controller may automatically produce a time-limited printing pause of the printing element in which the printing gap between the printing element and the recording medium is temporarily enlarged in order to direct the detected elevation past the printing element. A negative effect on the printing device given the presence of a damaged recording medium may thus be efficiently and reliably avoided or reduced.

Date of Patent: October 31, 2023
Assignee: Canon Production Printing Holding B.V.
Inventors: Bernd Hausmann, Hubert Drexler, Bernhard Holzner, Stephan Pilsl, Ulrich Bäumler, Lucian Petrut, Christian Wallis

  • Patent number: 8634086
Abstract: In a printing system or method a first printing apparatus and a second printing apparatus are respectively selectively operable in simplex mode and duplex mode. Each of the printing apparatuses in simplex mode process print jobs independently of the respective other printing apparatus, and in duplex mode processing print jobs jointly by both of the printing apparatuses. The printing apparatuses are connected with one another for control at least in duplex mode. An activation operating unit is provided via which at least one of the two printing apparatuses is selectively activated for the simplex mode or both of the printing apparatuses are selectively activated for the duplex mode.

  • Patent number: 8320782
Abstract: In an electrographic printing device a plurality of printing groups each have a respective plurality of developer stations. A plurality of toner reservoirs are each connected via a respective toner transport channel with one or more of the developer stations. Each of the toner reservoirs outside of the printing groups is stored in a respective toner transport unit. Each of the toner reservoirs is provided with a first circuit having a memory in which is stored at least a color filled into the respective toner reservoir. A respective second circuit with a memory is associated with each of the toner transport units. These memories have stored therein at least the respective toner color filled into the respective stored toner reservoir. A respective third circuit with a memory is provided for each developer station, the respective third circuit memory having stored therein at least a toner color filled into the respective developer station.

  • Patent number: 7729624
Abstract: In a method and system for determination of a fill state of a transport reservoir for toner material, toner material is transported from a transport reservoir into a developer station with aid of a toner transport system of a printer or copier. At least a toner material quantity supplied to the developer station is detected. The detected toner material quantity is associated with the transport reservoir from which the toner material is extracted.

  • Patent number: 7650102
Abstract: In a method for generating a developer mixture in a developer station of an electrographic printing device, magnetizable carrier particles and toner are simultaneously filled into the developer station, and in case of an error or an aborting of the filling a continuation takes place at a later time of the method.

  • Patent number: 6501929
Abstract: A printing system for printing on recording media first by a first printer and then by a second printer provides that print data is supplied in a page by page manner to the first and second printers from a print data source. Page information is sent to the printers using the print data and corresponding page information is sent to a buffer storage by the first printer. The page information in the buffer storage and the page information sent to the second printer are verified in a page by page manner by determining adherence to a predetermined rule. A synchronization mark is generated on the recording media by the first printer and is read by the second printer, which is used to control the printing process.
