  • Patent number: 4634414
Abstract: A method of manufacturing folding paper sacks, especially gusseted sacks, wherein each sack is shaped out of a tubular section separated from a single- or multiple-layer tubular web and closed at both ends with folded bottoms is characterized in that each tubular section continues to be conveyed uninterruptedly parallel to the direction of travel of the tubular web once it has been separated from the tubular web and the forward and/or rear ends of the tubular sections are shaped during the continuous pass by prefolding and crimping over and by the application of adhesive to the folded bottom, transversely to the direction C of travel, and accordingly sealed.

  • Patent number: 4569439
Abstract: A wrapping of netting is disclosed for a round bale of agricultural blade crops. The use of netting as a wrapping permits the elimination of all additional measures for fastening of the wrapping which have so far been customary and necessary with any other wrapping materials.

  • Patent number: 4514969
Abstract: A roll bale press apparatus for rolling and wrapping harvested agricultural material comprises a prechamber that is disposed forward of a press region. A variable position pickup device is operative in a first position thereof to direct harvested agricultural material through a first inlet orifice into the press region, and is operative in a second position thereof to direct harvested agricultural material into the prechamber. The apparatus includes a second inlet orifice above the first inlet orifice, between the prechamber and press region, through which harvested agricultural material may pass from the prechamber into the press region, and the prechamber includes a transport mechanism for conveying material in the prechamber upwardly to the second inlet orifice.

  • Patent number: 4499714
Abstract: Agricultural stalk products are baled in a baling press by winding a product in a pressure chamber to form a round bale, displacing the pressure chamber in cooperation with peripherally limiting transport elements so as to block a further product supply into the pressure chamber and to release a product supply into a storage chamber, whereas the transport elements deflect a product flow and peripherally limit the storage chamber, fixing an outer contour of the round bale in the pressure chamber and opening the latter, displacing the transport elements so that they discharge the bale from the storage chamber, transfer the stored product from the storage chamber to the pressure chamber and guide a new product flow into the pressure chamber, and peripherally closing a bottom of the pressure chamber by the transport elements for forming a next bale in the pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 4322937
Abstract: A harvester of the type comprising a pick-up mechanism operative to gather harvested material from the ground and to supply the same to a conveying structure within the harvester is further provided with a metal detector located within the harvester between the pick-up mechanism and conveying structure. The metal detector comprises a non-conductive shield structure which is disposed adjacent the path of movement of material passing from the pick-up mechanism to the conveying structure and arranged to provide a surface over which said material passes, and sensor means mounted within the shield structure and operative to produce a field which penetrates said surface and extends transversely across the path of movement of material being supplied by the pick-up mechanism to the conveying structure.
