  • Patent number: 6548930
Abstract: An electric motor for a fuel pump wherein fuel flows through the pump, includes spring elements provided for holding magnetic shells in the stator have a face which points toward a rotor and is flush with the magnetic shells. Turbulence in the flow of the fuel within the electric motor are thereby kept particularly low. The pressure loss during the flow through the electric motor thus becomes lower. The pump according to the invention consequently has high efficiency.

  • Patent number: 6503049
Abstract: In a feed pump designed as a side-channel pump, an impeller is held so as to be slightly pivotable with respect to a shaft about an axis running transversely to the shaft. The impeller is thereby adaptable to tolerances of a casing. Rubbing of the impeller on the casing is also prevented as a result. The feed pump consequently generates a particularly low level of noise.

  • Patent number: 6488466
Abstract: A feed pump designed as side-channel pump has a shaft for a rotationally fixed connection to an impeller. Two flattenings are arranged on the shaft so that they are nonparallel to one another. The impeller is thereby mountable on the shaft only in an intended position so that the impeller is rotated in an intended direction of rotation in a casing. The feed pump may therefore be assembled in a particularly simple way.

  • Patent number: 6441255
Abstract: Carrier-bound ruthenium catalysts are used to produce alcohols by the catalytic hydrogenation of aldehydes and ketones. The problem of deactivation of the catalyst is solved by the use of a ruthenium catalyst on an oxide carrier of the series TiO2, SiO2, ZrO2, MgO, mixed oxides thereof and silicates thereof. In particular, Ru on TiO2 or SiO2 results in a long service life of the catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20020087036
Abstract: A process for the catalytic hydrogenation of an organic compound, in particular a labile organic compound, in the presence of a support catalyst with a coating containing ruthenium as active metal and a total of 1.01 to 30 wt. % of active metals. Higher stereoselectivity and a greater catalyst shelf life may be obtained by using a support catalyst of which the oxide, carbide, nitride or siliceous support material has a BET (N2) surface area smaller than 10 m2/g, particularly preferably 0.1 to 5 m2/g, prior to loading with at least one active metal diatomaceous earth with a BET (N2) surface area greater than 2 m2/g is excluded and the ruthenium content thereof makes up at least 50 wt. %, preferably at least 99 wt. % of the active metals. The process and the catalysts are particularly suitable for the hydrogenation of polyfunctional compounds such as hydroxycarbonyl compounds and aromatic amines.

  • Patent number: 6297408
Abstract: A two-stage process for producing 1,3-propanediol by first hydrogenating at a temperature of 30° C. to 80° C. in the presence of an oxide-supported metal hydrogenation catalyst. Second, the resulting reaction solution is hydrogenated at a temperature of 80° C. to 180° C. to a 3-hydroxypropanal conversion of substantially 100% in the presence of an activated carbon-supported metal hydrogenation catalyst.
