    Abstract: The present invention relates to the monitoring and correction of display errors in a matrix addressed display system. The display system comprises a graphics system, a display module and a display fault handling system including a memory. The display module has a matrix addressed electro-optical array of display elements, the display elements being arranged in rows and columns and having corresponding row and column circuit lines. The graphics system generates display data and sends this to the display module in order to activate using row and column circuit lines each of the display elements and thereby display visual information to a user of the system based on the display data. The display fault handling system is used to monitor over a period of time at least one electrical parameter of a plurality these circuit lines and determine whether or not a display error has occurred.
