The maintenance system includes a control device comprising a motor control unit configured to control the drive unit and a non-temporary memory configured to store door data, a central maintenance data memory comprising maintenance data for at least one of configuring, monitoring and modifying the control device, a first bidirectional data connection, a second bidirectional data connection, and a mobile maintenance device. The door data is retrievable from the non-temporary memory. The mobile maintenance device is configured to be coupled to the non-temporary memory of the control device via the first bidirectional data connection to maintain the door arrangement, and to be directly or indirectly coupled to the central maintenance memory via the second bidirectional data connection.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for operating a safety sensitive edge for the safeguarded motor-driven movement of a door or gate having a moving edge is provided. An external sensing device(s) arranged in a feedback loop is disposed proximate the moving edge of the door and generates a fault signal when an obstruction is detected or when components of the feedback loop have systemically failed. A user indicates a desire to move the door by selecting a button, which generates a depressed signal while the button is depressed. The status of these signals is provided to a controller. In the absence of the fault signal, the controller generates an output signal indicating safe movement of the door is possible. If the fault signal is present, the controller generates an output signal indicating safe movement of the door is possible when the depressed signal is provided to the controller.

Abstract: A monitoring device and method for monitoring machine movements, moving parts of machines, gates, doors and the like, includes controller means with at least a first receiver for wirelessly receiving monitoring signals and a first transmitter for wirelessly transmitting activation signals, and includes monitoring means with at least a second receiver for receiving the activation signals, a second transmitter for transmitting monitoring signals, and at least one monitoring sensor for monitoring an unwired signal path. In one embodiment, the monitoring sensor is an optical safety shut-off bar that monitors the transmission of transmission signals via the unwired signal path.
