  • Patent number: 5026014
Abstract: Two free-standing tubular columns (1, 2) having slots (3), parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube, for locating extension arms or supporting arrangements are connected to one another according to the modular construction principle by means of a cross connection (4). The cross connection (4) of two connecting tubes (5, 6) contain, at their ends, one attachment housing (8) each, in which, on the one hand, these two connecting tubes (5, 6) are held and, on the other hand, a clamping bracket (13) having catch projections (16) is accommodated. The catch projections (16) are intended for engaging into the slots (3) of the tubular columns (1, 2). Each attachment housing (8) is provided at the front face with a surface contour complementary to the outer contour of the colunm, and a clamping screw (17) preloading the clamping bracket (13) against the attachment housing brings about an applied-pressure connection between the attachment housings (8) and the tubular columns (1, 2).

  • Patent number: 4645081
Abstract: The extension column (3) which is telescopically adjustable inside a vertical tube (2) and is optionally rotatable relative to the vertical tube (2) is supported on the latter by a radial and axial pivot bearing arrangement (11, 14) and a height-fixing device comprising a housing (16) and a coupling element (15) preferably in the form of a slide (15) which is supported on a bearing ring (14) which in turn sits on the bearing surface (13) of a support flange (11) supported by the vertical tube (2). The height-fixing slide (15) is mounted in a slide housing (16), which surrounds the bearing ring (14) and the support flange (11), and is against the restoring force of a return spring (27) transferable from a coupled position on the extension column (3) into a release position in which the extension column (3) is freely movable vertically.

  • Patent number: 4629078
Abstract: A support part (1) of the clothes display rack is provided with a securing device (2) for a height-adjustable carrier-rod (3) for placard-holding means (4). The securing device (2) contains a plug part (6), which is inserted, with a tight fit, in the support part (1) and has a central bore (5) for the carrier-rod (3). Although this rod is securely held, by a clamping action, in a clamping zone (6', 6") which is integrally connected to the plug part (6), it can nevertheless be shifted into virtually any desired axial position by applying a reasonable shifting force.

  • Patent number: 4624371
Abstract: The security clothes-stand contains a number of holding rods (4) which are retained in a supporting device (3') and on the top end of which can be mounted a clothes-hanger (7) for receiving an article of clothing to be presented. The holding rods (4) essentially consist of a base tube (10) which is connected rigidly to the supporting device (3') and on which a casing tube (11) is rotatably mounted. The casing tube (11) carries at its top end a lock attachment (14) which contains a snap-in catch (15) designed for the releasable retention of the clothes-hanger (7). A holding member (7,5) of the clothes-hanger (7) can be inserted into a receiving orifice in the snap-in catch (15) and can be removed from the lock attachment (14) only after the catch (15) in the latter has been released.

  • Patent number: 4574552
Abstract: Cross-beams, located between column elements of the support frame, contain, at their beam-ends, clamping members which are mounted inside a cavity in the cross-beam body in a manner permitting displacement in the longitudinal direction of the cross-beam, and are capable of being brought into, and out of, engagement with the column elements. These clamping members are expanding elements, coupled together and guided so that they move in pairs, their head part, which engages into the column element, being provided with clamping means and centering means, and being capable of being pushed completely back into the cross-beam cavity. The expanding elements can be forced apart from each other, in a parallel relationship, perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the cross-beam, by means of a socket-head screw which can be operated from the outside of the cross-beam.
