  • Patent number: 7711451
Abstract: The invention relates to a control unit for a refrigeration or air conditioning device, comprising a main processor that is situated in a housing and that controls the temperature, fan and/or the defrosting process of a refrigeration or air conditioning device. Contact points for a co-processor, which is separate from the main processor and is suitable for controlling an electronic expansion valve, are located in said housing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 20, 2005
Date of Patent: May 4, 2010
Assignee: Emerson Electric GmbH & Co., OHG

  • Patent number: 5779218
Abstract: A valve having a housing (1) and at least one sealing seat (2, 3) formed therein and one piezoelectric lamina (6) self-supportingly mounted at its first end on the housing (1) and with its second end closing or opening the sealing seat (2, 3) depending on the control voltage supplied to the lamina (6). The first end of the lamina (6) is embedded in a sealing compound (7) which, in turn is at least partially incorporated in the housing (1). The lamina (6) is thereby rigidly connected to the housing (1). While the first end of the lamina (6) is being sealed, it is fixedly held in relation to the housing (1). Consequently, the lamina (6) cannot be displaced even during a long period of operation. Subsequent adjustment is therefore unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 5260175
Abstract: A method of producing microstructures having regions of different structural height includes providing a layer of positive resist material that is sensitive to X-ray radiation with microstructures on a side facing a source of X-rays. Using a mask, the layer of a positive resist material is partially irradiated with the X-rays. The irradiated regions are removed with the aid of a developer.

  • Patent number: 5096643
Abstract: The plate-like valve elements (10 and 20) of the microvalve are provided with a plurality of valve seats and, respectively, corresponding valve members. The sealing surfaces of a secondary valve element (10) are respectively formed by molding to copy the sealing faces of a primary valve element (20) so that the sealing surfaces of both valve elements are completely complementary to each other. The sealing surfaces need no further processing such as machining. Despite liberal tolerances of manufacture a high precision register of the valve elements in relation to each other is ensured.

  • Patent number: 5054522
Abstract: A valve plate (14) provided with slot-like valve ports (16) is able to slide between two stationary valve plates (10 and 12) which are joined with each other and are provided with corresponding slot-like valve ports (16). A electrostatic drive is integrated in the valve plates (10, 12 and 14). It consists of strip-like electrodes (20 and 22) which are arranged opposite to corresponding electrodes of another valve plate. By the application of suitable actuating potentials with the same or opposite polarity to the electrodes of different valve plates the actuating forces may be produced, which are needed for moving the movable valve plate (14).
