  • Publication number: 20080278876
Abstract: A method for diagnosing control circuits having at least one actuator, in particular of a fuel injection device, is provided. Before operation of a given control circuit, this control circuit and the at least one actuator are tested for short-circuits, and an error response is initiated if a short-circuit is present.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 5, 2005
    Publication date: November 13, 2008
    Inventors: Bernd Kudicke, Thoralf Rosahl
  • Patent number: 7089915
Abstract: A device and a method are described for controlling an electromagnetic user, especially a magnetic valve for influencing the fuel quantity to be injected into an internal combustion engine. At least one switching time of the user is taken into consideration in the control. The at least one switching time is ascertained starting from a current value.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 2002
Date of Patent: August 15, 2006
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Uwe Guenther, Andreas Glaser, Bernd Kudicke, Wolfgang Schmauder, Juergen Eckhardt, Oliver Heyna, Beate Leibbrand, Hartmut Albrodt, Thomas Wenzler
  • Patent number: 7035074
Abstract: An arrangement for monitoring the drive of an actuator includes an output-stage component which includes a counter. With the aid of the counter, the switch-on time of the actuator is determined. The determined switch-on time is made available to the microcomputer for diagnostic purposes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 23, 2002
Date of Patent: April 25, 2006
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH

  • Patent number: 6986339
Abstract: Method for operating an internal combustion engine in which fuel is injected into a combustion chamber by an injector. The injector has a drivable piezo-actuator. A setpoint value is generated for driving the piezo-actuator. A setpoint charge quantity (QCsetpoint) is determined from the setpoint value, and an actual charge quantity (QCactual) supplied to the piezo-actuator is determined. The setpoint charge quantity (QCsetpoint) and the actual charge quantity (QCactual) are combined, and the combined result (Son) acts upon the drive circuit of the piezo-actuator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 2004
Date of Patent: January 17, 2006
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
