  • Publication number: 20100089962
Abstract: A method for the control of a feed mechanism of a web-fed printing press, i.e., for the control of tensile stress and/or web tension of a printing material web to be taken into the printing unit by the feed mechanism, wherein thereby an actual value is compared with a desired value. According to the discrepancy between the actual value and the desired value, a control device for the tensile stress and/or the web tension produces a correcting variable for the feed mechanism. The actual value of the tensile stress and/or the web tension is determined by calculation based on a model.

  • Publication number: 20060186259
Abstract: A reel changer of a web-fed printing press includes a load-bearing axle and a carrying arm having at least two carrying-arm segments. A printing-material reel may be mounted or clamped between the carrying-arm segments of the carrying arm. The printing-material reel is displaceable relative to the load-bearing axle using the carrying-arm segments in a production mode. A control system and a safety system which operates independently of the control system both monitor the relative spacing between the carrying-arm segments and blocks the respective carrying-arm segments in the event of an impermissible spacing deviation in the production mode. The safety system includes a separate distance measuring device dedicated to each carrying-arm segment, which distance measuring devices interact with an evaluation device.

  • Publication number: 20060185551
Abstract: A method for regulating a reel changer of a web-fed press includes having a current controller and a rotational speed controller connected to the current controller as a cascade control, and a position controller for positioning a dancer roller connected to the rotational speed controller to effect a further cascade. The method includes deactivating the position controller of the dancer roll and feeding a differentiated set point of the rotational speed controller to the output variable of the rotational speed controller as a feedforward control component during a reel change and, after the reel change has been performed, activating the position controller of the dancer roll and feeding a differentiated actual value of the position controller to the output variable of the rotational speed controller as a feedforward control component.

  • Patent number: 6405098
Abstract: A control arrangement for controlling web unwinding equipment used for feeding webs to a web-fed rotary printing machine stabilizes a swing roll used to tension the web at a central position via an integrator in a manner independent of the coefficient of friction. A proportional and differential element is connected in parallel with the integrator. The inputs of the integrator and the proportional and differential element are connected directly or indirectly to a swing-roll transmitter whose output is dependent on a position of the swing roll. The outputs of the integrator and the proportional and differential element act on an adder element. The output of the adder element acts directly or indirectly on a brake for braking the rotation of the wound roll.
