Abstract: A business process, such as a transportation process for selecting transportation agents to transport goods, is monitored during an operational stage so that notifications are given that the business process may need to be revised. The business process is executed during the operational stage and has been formulated during a planning stage based on at least one selected parameter that is projected to occur in the operational stage. During the operational stage, the at least one selected parameter is monitored to determine if the projection for the at least one selected parameter is accurate. If the projection for the at least one selected parameter is determined to be inaccurate, the business process, during the operational stage, is revised based on information that is collected during the monitoring of the at least one selected parameter.
