  • Patent number: 6949227
Abstract: A devise for carrying out chemical reactions and processes in high-frequency fields, comprises a high-frequency chamber 2 for irradiating a solid, liquid or gaseous substance while under pressure with at least one radiation source and a reactor for exposing to a high-frequency field. The reactor being connectively coupled to the upper wall 4 of the high-frequency chamber 2 through a sealable connection 3. Rail elements 5 are provided around the reactor, and configured to form a pressure-resistant cage. The rail elements 5 each have a guide 11 for holding a crown-shaped holder 12. The holder 12 is fixed in its position by the guides 11 of the rail elements 5. Multiple reaction chambers can be incorporated as a batch reactor system.

  • Patent number: 6797787
Abstract: An epoxidized polyalkenylene is prepared reacting a polyalkenylene, an aqueous solution of 15 to 90% by volume of hydrogen peroxide and a carboxylic acid having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the presence of a catalyst which is phosphonic acid, a derivative of phosphonic acid or a mixture thereof, without addition of an organic solvent or water, to obtain the epoxidized polyalkenylene. The epoxidized polyalkenylene has a number-average molar mass of between 500 and 50 000 g/mol and an epoxide oxygen content of between 1 and 25 percent by mass.

  • Patent number: 6717119
Abstract: A magazine-type sample rotation body (7) is arranged in a high frequency chamber (5) so that it rotates away from the horizontal, the body (7) accommodating, in fixed location, reactor blocks (10) that are sealed or sealable from fluids such that fluids contained in sample vessels in the reactor blocks can be mixed before, during and after high frequency exposure because of the rotational movement of the sample rotation body.

  • Publication number: 20020176814
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to create a device which operates in a highly reliable manner with minimum loss of energy, requiring a minimum amount of technical complexity for a wide range of applications used to carry out chemical reactions and processes in high frequency fields. According to the invention, rod-shaped elements are provided around the reactor (1) Said elements form a pressure-stable cage and can be individually fixed to the wall (4) of the high frequency chamber (2) with the aid of fixing elements (6). The rod-shaped elements respectively possess a guide (11) which is used to receive a crown-shaped holder (12) for the reactor (1) or a reactor closure (13, 13a) When the rod-like elements (5) are fixed in a positive fit, the holder (12) is secured in such a way that alignment and centering can occur. The inventive device advantageously enables energy to be supplied during decomposition, hydrolysis, chemical synthesis, extraction, distillation, drying and other reactions and processes.

  • Publication number: 20020168407
Abstract: A process of preparing low-viscosity aqueous cellulose ether solutions is described. The process comprises: (a) dissolving high molecular weight cellulose ether in water to form a first solution; (b) admixing a catalytic amount of an acid into the first solution of step (a) to form a second solution; (c) subjecting the second solution of step (b) to high-frequency radiation having a frequency of 3 to 300,000 MHz, which results in raising the temperature of said second solution to a temperature of 60° C. to 150° C.; (d) cooling the frequency subjected second solution of step (c); and (e) neutralizing the cooled solution. Also described is a method of using the cellulose ether prepared in accordance with the method of the present invention as a coating material for solid pharmaceutical administration units, such as tablets.
