  • Patent number: 4413072
Abstract: Unsaturated polyester resins containing--as additive--polyesterurethanes having free carboxyl groups and/or terminal radically polymerizable double bonds are good starting materials for manufacturing moulded articles with outstanding properties, particularly with an excellent impact strength.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 9, 1981
Date of Patent: November 1, 1983
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4382114
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of metal effect lacquerings having improved weather-resistance by the multilayered lacquering of various substrates, using a clear layer as top coat and a lacquer containing metal pigments to form the outer layer of the multilayered lacquering which is covered by the layer of clear lacquer, characterized in that the clear lacquer used is one the main binder of which is a two-component system consisting of:(a) a polyol component consisting essentially of polyester polyols having a low aromatic component content and optionally also polyacrylate polyols; and(b) a polyisocyanate component having biuret and/or isocyanurate groups, as well as aliphatically-bound isocyanate groups which may be blocked with isocyanate blocking agents. The present invention also relates to the substrates coated with these lacquers.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4287109
Abstract: The instant invention relates to an aqueous silicone polyester resin system having a silicone content of at least 30% by weight, based on the solid binder, comprising a polyester resin having an acid number of from 50 to 170; a silicone precondensate with SiOH or SiOR-functionality; or a silicone-polyester-combination resin; having from 0 to 80% by weight, based on the solid binder, of an organic solvent; from 0 to 10% by weight, based on the solid binder, of an emulsion or dispersion auxiliary; a nitrogen base; and optionally at least one pigment or filler. The invention relates also to the production of the silicone polyester-resin system and to the use of the resin in aqueous lacquer materials.

  • Patent number: 4223099
Abstract: Molding compositions comprising a "terminally unsaturated"polyurethane, a copolymerizable vinyl or vinylidene compound and a rubbery-elastic polymer having a glass transition temperature of between -90.degree. and +10.degree. C. can be used for the preparation of molded articles having a considerably increased impact strength and a good heat distortion temperature, strength and rigidity.
