    Abstract: Polyols are conditioned and stabilized by mixing them at 0 to 150.degree. C. with from about 0.0001 to about 1% by weight, based on the quantity of polyol, of a silylated acid corresponding to the formula:X--[Si(CH.sub.3).sub.3 ].sub.nin whichX represents a neutral acid residue obtained by removal of the acidic hydrogen atoms from an n-basic acid having a maximum pKa value of 3, provided that the n-basic acid is not a hydrohalic acid andn represents an integer of from 1 to 3.The resultant polyol is characterized by good color and activity properties. The stabilized polyols are particularly useful in the production of polyurethanes, particularly polyurethane foams.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a magnetic storage medium consisting of a non-magnetic layer support and, applied thereto, a binder-containing magnetic layer, the binder consisting of from 25 to 100% of a thermoplastic polyurethane substantially free from reactive terminal groups obtained by reacting a linear polyester of at least one dicarboxylic acid containing from 2 to 8 carbon atoms and/or hydroxy carboxylic acid containing from 4 to 6 carbon atoms and at least one glycol containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, the polyester having a molecular weight of from 1200 to 6000, at least one diisocyanate and a mixture of at least two glycols containing from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, the molar fraction of the individual components not exceeding 0.8. The polyurethane has a hardness of from 80 to 100 Shore A, a tensile strength of from 30 to 75 MPa and a breaking elongation of from 320 to 520%.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with an improved method of reverse coating textile sheets with storage stable polyurethane top and adhesive coats which are formulated to have improved resistance to deformation under heat and pressure. At least one of the coats is formulated from a diisocyanate, a high molecular weight dihydroxy compound and a mixture of at least one low molecular weight diol with a low molecular weight monoalkanolamine. The coatings are applied in the usual reverse coating manner, i.e. the top coat is applied to a release substrate from solution; dried; the adhesive coat is applied from solution onto the dried top coat; and the textile substrate is laminated to the adhesive coat.
