  • Patent number: 6693497
Abstract: A device is disclosed for converting a circularly polarized electromagnetic radiation into linearly polarized electromagnetic radiation. The device includes a depolarizer with depolarizing elements supported in a polarization mode converter for rotation between a vertical output and a horizontal output. A depolarization position for circularly polarized radiation exists between the horizontal output and the vertical output. The rotation direction of the depolarizer can be adjusted to selectively direct left-handed circularly polarized and right-handed circularly polarized radiation either to the vertical or the horizontal output.

  • Patent number: 6456253
Abstract: A reflector antenna is disclosed with a main reflector and a rotatable sub-reflector that significantly reduces vibrations in the sub-reflector. The sub-reflector includes a reflecting surface located in front of the main reflector between the main reflector and a radiation source as well as a cylindrical shaft that extends in a direction parallel to a main axis of the main reflector. The sub-reflector is made of two connected parts, wherein one part includes the reflecting surface, and the other part is made of a non-reflecting material and formfittingly engages with the reflecting surface. The sub-reflector is rotatably supported on the cylindrical shaft and has a rotation speed of between approximately 1500 to 3500 rpm.

  • Patent number: 6417814
Abstract: A reflector antenna is disclosed with a stator portion and a rotor portion which is supported for rotation relative to the stator portion about a rotation axis. A reflector that is connected by an electrical connection with the stator portion, is secured to the rotor portion. The electrical connection is formed as a flexible connecting cable, wherein one end of the cable is attached to the rotor portion and the other end is attached to the stator portion. A segment of the connecting cable rotates with half the rotation speed of the rotor portion and with the same rotation direction as the rotor portion.
