  • Patent number: 5662184
Abstract: An arrangement of a drive unit in a vehicle, which drive unit comprises at least an electric traction motor, a fuel cell, a compressor for supplying air to the fuel cell and an electric motor for driving the compressor. According to the invention, the fuel cell is partitioned into at least two fuel-cell stacks which are fitted on opposite sides of the compressor. The electric motor, the compressor and a radiator fan are arranged on a common drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 5641031
Abstract: An arrangement of a drive unit in a vehicle, having at least an electric traction motor, a fuel cell and a fuel tank. Two longitudinal beams situated at a distance from one another serve as supporting structure for the fuel-cell stack, which is mounted between the longitudinal beams in the underfloor region of the vehicle. Two transverse beams which extend at least over the region between the longitudinal beams may also be mounted at a distance from one another, so that a safety region is formed in which sensitive components of the drive unit can be protected against damage. The arrangement of individual components of the fuel-cell system in the underfloor region of the vehicle additionally provides the advantage that the passenger compartment or loading compartment can be of flat design.

  • Patent number: 4629388
Abstract: A towing apparatus for a rail bound vehicle is described. The towing apparatus includes both a lifting device for lifting the wheel load off of a defective wheel, tire or axle and a mobile support which supports the load, normally supported by the defective wheel, during a towing operation. The lifting device occupies a minimum of space and is supported by the road surface rather than by the rail. The mobile support may be conveniently and positively engaged with a defective wheel hub under conditions wherein a minimum of maneuvering space is available.

  • Patent number: 4218937
Abstract: A multipartite drive pedal of synthetic plastic material for vehicles whose members are hinge-like connected with each other by way of material-integrated film hinges, whereby within the area of the upper end of the foot plate of the drive pedal, a connecting member for the pivotal connection of the foot plate with a pivotal lever projecting into the leg space is arranged on the back side thereof; a bore which is provided in the connecting member for receiving the end of the lever facing the drive pedal is arranged in a clamping member pivotal relative to the connecting member within the same plane and coupled thereto by way of a film hinge; the bore is arranged transversely to the film hinges and the clamping member is adapted to be fixed axially on the at least approximately rectilinearly extending end of the lever in various positions to compensate for relatively large manufacturing tolerances.
