  • Patent number: 8602616
Abstract: It is provided a lamp, particularly halogen lamp, for a headlight of a motor vehicle, comprising a light source (12) for emitting mainly white light, a mainly transparent envelope (14) encapsulating the light source (12) and a filter element (22) provided at the envelope (14), wherein the filter element (22) is adapted for deflecting visible light of a predefined wavelength interval such, that mainly blue light can be provided above a bright/dark-cutoff (28). Since the deflected bluish light is above the bright/dark-cutoff (28) an oncoming driver recognizes earlier the light. At the same time the oncoming driver is not blinded by the blue light above the bright/dark-cutoff (28), since not the whole emitted light (40) but only a smaller wavelength interval is directed above the bright/dark-cutoff (28).

  • Patent number: 8458367
Abstract: An SMBus message handler, an integrated circuit and a method for controlling an SMBus are disclosed which identifies starting address of a program being stored in a memory. Instructions of the program are fetched one after another into a finite-state machine which controls the data transfer between an SMBus interface and a register set in compliance with the instruction present in the finite-state machine. Further, an SMBus test device and a method for controlling a testing system are described which check as to whether a key is input from a second interface. Upon inputting of a key it is mapped to a sequence of instructions for controlling devices connected to the SMBus or transferring data or receiving data from the devices connected to the SMBus.

  • Publication number: 20120007518
Abstract: The invention relates to a halogen automotive lamp for pulse width operation, a lighting assembly including a halogen lamp and to a method of operating a halogen lamp. The lamp comprises a transparent lamp vessel with a gas filling comprising a rare gas component and a halogen component. A filament is arranged within the vessel. In conventional halogen lamps operation with pulsed electrical power, such as e.g. PWM operation of automotive halogen lamps for cornering and bending light lead to shortened lifetimes. In order to propose a lamp with increased lifetime under pulse operation, the gas filling comprises nitrogen in an amount of 0.1-5 mol-%. It has surprisingly been found that filament deformation may be counteracted by the corresponding small amount of nitrogen.
