  • Publication number: 20150107776
Abstract: The present invention provides a non-return valve for a resin injection system, especially for use in electrical cable joints, comprising: a valve housing which includes an outlet for a fluid flowing through the valve; and a valve body which is held by the valve housing and is freely movable between a closed position, in which the outlet is substantially sealed or closed to fluid flow by the valve body, and an open position, in which the outlet is substantially open to fluid flow. Thus, with the present invention, the valve body can be loosely held by the valve housing and the valve need not include any spring means to bias the valve body to the closed position. The invention also provides a resin injection system for sealing a localised breach in an object, such as an electrical cable joint.

  • Publication number: 20120267146
Abstract: A separator for separating the connected wires of spliced multi-core cables in a splice enclosure comprises a core and a plurality of separating arms extending outwardly from the core to define, around the core, a plurality of locations for receiving the connected wires. Some at least of the separating arms are individually-attached to the core whereby the number of said wire-receiving locations can be varied by changing the number of separating arms attached to the core.

  • Patent number: 7767909
Abstract: The tubular terminal for a cable, in particular a medium or high voltage cable, comprises a first connector having at least one terminal end for connecting to at least one mating second connector adapted to be connected to a cable and engaged with the first connector for making electrical contact therewith upon connection of the second connector to the at least one terminal end of the first connector. Furthermore, the tubular terminal comprises a shrinkable sleeve having a first tubular portion and a second tubular portion extending from the first tubular portion. The first tubular portion of the shrinkable sleeve is fixedly arranged around the first connector. The second tubular portion of the shrinkable sleeve is adapted to extend beyond the at least one terminal end of the first connector for covering a mating second connector and cable attached thereto when the second connector is connected to the at least one terminal end of the first connector.

  • Patent number: 7662336
Abstract: The invention relates to a vessel (1) for the metallurgical treatment of pig iron, steel melts and similar, in particular a converter vessel, mounted on a support ring (3), arranged at a separation by means of pivot pins, whereby the vessel (1) rests on the top flange (3a) of the support ring (3) by means of claws (6) on the vessel wall (1b) and a support (4) is detachably embodied with additional fixing elements on the top flange (3a) of the support ring (3). According to the invention, the disadvantage of having to work in hot, restricted regions which are difficult for the personnel to access can be avoided, whereby the support on the top flange (3a) of the support ring (3) comprises opposing vessel brackets (7) and support ring brackets (8) which can be tensioned together in a closing direction (10) by means of a hinged closure (9) until a secure closed position is achieved and which may be easily opened in the opposing operating direction (12).

  • Patent number: 5593777
Abstract: Two-component loop yarns composed of core and effect filaments are made of synthetic polymers and comprise the following features. At least some of the effect filaments are made of polyester, and at least some of the effect filaments have a breaking extension of from 35 to 70%, preferably from 35 to 60%. Moreover, at least some of the effect filaments have a birefringence of from 100*10.sup.-3 to 150*10.sup.-3, in particular from 125*10.sup.-3 to 140*10.sup.-3, and at least some of the effect filaments have a hot air shrinkage of 200.degree. C. of from 3 to 14%, in particular from 5 to 10%. The effect filaments have a filament linear density of not greater than 1.5 dtex.

  • Patent number: 4788410
Abstract: A process for the control and/or guidance of welds in electric arc welding wherein a metal or a metal alloy is applied to the edge or surface to be welded of at least one workpiece, with the metal or at least one of the principal alloying metals not being present in the workpiece or at least in slight proportions only, so that a characteristic spectral line emitted by at least one of the metals applied is observed spectroanalytically in the arc and that the weld is controlled and/or the arc guided by means of the spectral data determined.
