Publication number: 20230354489Abstract: A method is provided for operating a control and/or regulating system for a light emitting diode field. At least two first outputs are provided at which control signals for controlling controllable switch elements of the light emitting diode field are tapped. A second output is provided at which control and/or regulating signals for controlling and/or regulating a controllable and/or regulatable power source is tapped. The voltage drop across the light emitting diode field is measured by the first voltage sensor, and when the control and/or regulating signal of the control and/or regulating system falls below a designated voltage value, the controllable and/or regulatable power source is switched off. A constant sensor signal is present at the at least one measuring signal input, and the sensor signal is larger than the designated voltage value.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2023Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Shaham Nemati, Dieter Nietfeld, Bernd Schulte-Eversum

Patent number: 7709398Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for depositing at least one layer, particularly a semiconductor layer, onto at least one substrate, which is situated inside a process chamber of a reactor while being supported by a substrate holder. The layer is comprised of at least two material components provided in a fixed stoichiometric ratio, which are each introduced into the reactor in the form of a first and a second reaction gas, and a portion of the decomposition products form the layer, whereby the supply of the first reaction gas, which has a low thermal activation energy, determines the growth rate of the layer, and the second reaction gas, which has a high thermal activation energy, is supplied in excess and is preconditioned, in particular, by an independent supply of energy. The first reaction gas flows in a direction toward the substrate holder through a multitude of openings, which are distributed over a surface of a gas inlet element, said surface being located opposite the substrate holder.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2005Date of Patent: May 4, 2010Assignee: Aixtron AGInventors: Gerhard Karl Strauch, Johannes Kaeppeler, Markus Reinhold, Bernd Schulte

Publication number: 20080122651Abstract: Data is exchanged by periodically broadcasting at predetermined first short intervals from each of a plurality of data sources on a radio channel a communication-initiating radio signal indicating that the respective source has data ready for transfer. The radio channel is monitored by that can transmit to one of the sources a signal triggering data exchange, whereby subsequently the respective data is transmitted from the one source to the receiver. Thereafter periodic broadcast of the communication-initiating radio signal from the one source is suspended for a predetermined long interval substantially greater than the short interval.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2007Publication date: May 29, 2008Inventors: Gerhard Niederfeld, Bernd Schulte, Klaus Volbert

Patent number: 6840545Abstract: A welded flange connection and methods and apparatus for producing the connection are disclosed. A weld insert is disposed between the flared ends of abutted plastic pipe or plastic-lined pipe sections. The weld insert includes an annular support disc having a resistance heating element disposed at least about the inner circumference of the disc. When held tightly between the flared ends of abutted pipe sections power can be applied to the heating element to produce sufficient heat to temporarily raise the temperature of the adjacent surfaces of the flared sections of pipe above their melting point. When the weld is cooled, a strong, fluid-tight, thermoplastic weld is formed. A welded flange connection using the weld insert of the present invention effectively and efficiently produces high quality, fluid-tight connections in plastic pipe and plastic-lined piping systems.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2002Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Inventors: Bernd Schulte-Ladbeck, Oscar O. Jimenez

Patent number: 5713524Abstract: An improved fire protection system which incorporates delivery conduits having an inner liner, preferably formed of plastic. Attachment of the nozzle assemblies to the conduit is made at the flanged end of a piping segment and, preferably, at the connection points between two piping segments. The connection is formed so that water is communicated from within the conduits to the sprinkler head while avoiding contact with metal surfaces of the conduits. A spacer assembly is provided which is placed between the ends of two flanged piping segments. The spacer assembly includes an inner plastic disk and outer annular fire protection ring. A lateral port is disposed through both the ring and disk and preferably threaded for the attachment of a nozzle or other dispensing means. The spacer assembly forms a metal to metal seal with both piping segments for fire protection. Either lateral edge of the fire protection ring may be crimped or crushed slightly to aid in forming this seal.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1995Date of Patent: February 3, 1998Assignee: Performance Plastics Products, Inc.Inventors: Wallace Greene, Bernd Schulte-Ladbeck

Patent number: 5277455Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improved containment, detection, and monitoring of leaks of piped substances in which piping systems are constructed of connections of flanged, plastic-lined concentric pipe segments, these segments each having an inner and outer shell with an annulus therebetween and an aperture connecting the annulus with the exterior flange face of the pipe segment. A connector is described which may be placed between pipe segments to be connected and which has annular resilient sealing members and inner plastic seals to provide seals at the connection. The piping system provides an annular containment passageway to capture fluid escaping from the inner shell of a pipe segment and communicate the fluid to a fluid detection port in the connector. The annular containment passageway comprises at least one pipe segment annulus, at least one aperture in the pipe segment, and an annular fluid opening at the connector to communicate fluid toward the fluid detection port.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1992Date of Patent: January 11, 1994Assignee: Performance Plastics Products, Inc.Inventors: Gail W.
