Abstract: An instrument for inserting and removing a bone nail connected to a rod is provided. The instrument includes a head element that has a guide surface for guiding the head element along the guide rod. The head element is cylindrical or barrel-shaped, and the guide surface is formed by an axial channel in the head element, and has a lateral access which is formed in the head element. The access is used to introduce the guide rod into the axial channel, in such a way that the head element is secured to prevent it from being removed from the guide rod in the lateral direction.

Abstract: A device to retain screws during insertion into an object such as a bone by use of a screw-driver. The device comprises comprising a gripping sleeve the free end of which has a radially expandable portion for receiving the screw and the other end of which has at least one radial bore for movably receiving a locking ball. A safety sleeve is slidingly disposed on an outer surface of the gripping sleeve. The safety sleeve blocks an expansion of the expandable portion when in a position which is toward the free end with respect to the gripping sleeve and releases the expandable portion when in a position which is toward the free end with respect to the gripping sleeve. A handle is axially movable and hold the first locking ball in engagement with an annular groove of the gripping sleeve. A first spring acts between an inner shoulder at the end of the handle portion facing the expandable portion and a radial shoulder of the safety sleeve.

Abstract: A targeting apparatus for a locking nail with a first section which is releasably connectable to the allocated end of the nail, with a bow-like second section connected to the first section, which comprises a receiving section running approximately parallel to the nail when the nail is connected to the first section and which comprises at least one transverse bore for the approximate fitting accommodation of a guiding sleeve. The receiving section consists of a first part rigidly formed with the second section and facing the first section, and of an outer second part movable relative to the first part against spring force, wherein the transverse bore extends through both parts and the bore in the parts is selected such that with a relaxed second part the sleeve is held in a slightly clamping manner and with a certain adjustment of the second part to the first part is freely displaceable in the bore.

Abstract: A dosage unit for dosing a number of measured quantities of a liquid, such as insulin, from a cartridge (2), said dosage unit comprising a cylindrical casing (1) for the cartridge (2), the distal end of the casing (1) being provided with means for fastening an injection needle (5) with two points protruding at opposite sides, one point (7) thereof being provided to be plunged into the cartridge (2). The other end of the casing comprises a piston rod (13) for exerting a force on a piston (8) inside the cartridge (2) and an adjustment means (20) provided with an inner thread (21), said adjustment means being in rotatable engagement with an outer thread (19) on the outside of the casing (1). The adjustment means (20) is adapted to limit the length of the stroke of the piston rod (13) after adjustment in accordance with a measuring scale (37, 38) stating the desired dosage quantity.
