  • Patent number: 6308627
Abstract: A method for removing a cleaning device from a printing machine and for inserting the cleaning device or another cleaning device into the printing machine, the inserted cleaning device being secured in position in the printing machine by a fixing device, includes opening a protective covering of the printing machine and automatically inactivating the fixing device by the opening of the protective covering, removing the cleaning device from the printing machine through an opening in the printing machine exposed by the protective covering, inserting the respective cleaning device into the printing machine, and closing the protective covering and automatically activating the cleaning device by the closing of the protective covering, so that the inserted cleaning device is secured in the inserted position thereof; and a printing machine for performing the method.

  • Publication number: 20010003957
Abstract: A device for clamping the trailing edge of a printing plate in a plate cylinder of a rotary printing machine includes a torsion bar disposed in a cylinder gap formed in the plate cylinder and extending in axial direction thereof, clamping elements affixed to the torsion bar and cooperating with holding elements for clamping the printing plate, and actuators provided on both sides of the plate cylinder for stretching the printing plate in axial direction. The torsion bar is of bipartite construction, and the actuators, respectively, are mounted so as to be displaceable axially independently of one another.

  • Publication number: 20010003956
Abstract: A cladding of a printing machine in a region of a side wall of a printing unit of the printing machine includes a housing fastened to the side wall, the housing having an upper housing wall, two lateral housing walls and a housing cover connected to the lateral housing walls so as to be displaceable between a lower position covering the side wall and a position raised to a defined height.

  • Patent number: 6237492
Abstract: A cleaning device for a printing press, having a cloth spindle formed with a longitudinal groove, and a cleaning cloth clampable in the longitudinal groove, comprising a clamping body rotatable inside the longitudinal groove out of a first position, wherein clamping of the cleaning cloth is undone, and into a second position, wherein the cleaning cloth is clamped between the clamping body and an inner face defining the longitudinal groove; and a printing press and, more particularly, a rotary printing press, in combination with the cleaning device.

  • Patent number: 6109926
Abstract: A current connection suitable for transferring high-frequency, high-amp current consists of a stationary feed line part (2) and a rotational part (4), each of which is connected to paired conductor rails (6, 8; 6', 8'). The conductor rails (6, 8; 16, 18), connected at one end to a power generator and at the other end to the stationary feed line part (2), consist essentially of at least two parallel conductor rails, which are kept a certain distance apart by means of an insulator (5a). As a result of flexible power conductors (10, 10'), electrically conductive manner to the circular periphery of the outer conductor ring (14), the other end to inner conductor ring (15), the rotational part (4) can be rotated with respect to the stationary feed line part (2) in correspondence with the length of the current conductors (10, 10', . . . ; 11, 11', . . . ).

  • Patent number: 5826322
Abstract: For the production of particles from castings (10) of metals from the group of the lanthanides, aluminum, boron, chromium, iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, nickel, niobium, cobalt, titanium, vanadium, zirconium, and their alloys, which have solidified in an oriented manner, especially for the production of materials from the group of magnetic materials, hydrogen storage elements (hydride storage elements), and battery electrodes, a melt of the metal is applied in a nonreactive atmosphere to the inside of an at least essentially cylindrical cooling surface (9) according to the principle of centrifugal casting. The cylinder rotates at high speed around a rotational axis, and the melt is cooled proceeding from the outside toward the inside with an essentially radial direction of solidification. The hollow casting (10) is then reduced to particles.
