Patent number: 7467568Abstract: A drive device has a gear unit having a gear shaft and a motor unit having a motor shaft drivingly connected to the gear shaft. At least one cooling unit is arranged within the drive device for dissipating thermal losses. The cooling unit can be arranged in the gear unit or between the gear unit and the motor unit. For example, the cooling unit has at least one fan that can be arranged in a coupling unit between the gear unit and the motor unit. Instead of or in addition to the fan, a cooling liquid flowing through a flow chamber can be used.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2003Date of Patent: December 23, 2008Assignee: Stöber Antriebstechnik GmbH & Co.Inventor: Bernd Stöber

Publication number: 20070188722Abstract: An optical system is usable to form an illuminating strip on a surface of a material. The optical system includes an illuminating device which contains several light sources which are located at a distance from the surface of the material. The illuminating device uses its light sources to generate the illuminating strip on the surface of the material, which is displaced in relation to the device. The illuminating device includes a mirror which focuses the light emitted by the light source into the illuminating strip, a diffusion body on the light emission side facing the surface of the material. The light sources feed their light into the reflector module. That module, the diffusion body, and the mirror are configured as a single component.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2005Publication date: August 16, 2007Inventor: Bernd Stober

Publication number: 20060251320Abstract: A material, with at least one identification characteristic, is subjected to a qualitative evaluation. A color image of this at least one identification characteristic is taken using an electronic image sensor which produces an electrical signal that is evaluated by an evaluation device. Another electrical signal is obtained from at least one reference image and is stored in a data memory. The second electric signal, has a set point value, for the first electric signal, for at least two set point values contained in the reference image. The first signal is compared to at least two set point values in the second image. The color image of the identification characteristic is tested for deviation from the reference. The identification characteristic is checked for association with at least one aspect of the identification characteristic of the material. The tasks are carried out in a continuous working process being carried out by a machine, such as a printing machine, during a continuous printing process.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2004Publication date: November 9, 2006Inventors: Carsten Diederichs, Volker Lohweg, Jorn Sacher, Bernd Stober, Thomas Turke, Harald Willeke

Publication number: 20060207452Abstract: At least one register and an ink density are controlled in a printing machine having at least one printing unit which includes a forme cylinder, a transfer cylinder, and a counter-pressure cylinder. An image sensor records an image from a print substrate, which is imprinted with ink, inside the printing unit, and sends data correlated to that image to an evaluation unit. The data for the last printed image is compared with prior data and in response, the evaluation unit generates a command that is directed to an actuator for controlling the supply of ink. The image sensor is oriented towards the print substrate and detects the entire width of the printed substrate, which width is transverse to a direction of substrate conveyance. The evaluation unit generates the actuating command to control the supply of ink based on data from the image sensor and taken over the entire width of the substrate. The evaluation unit also controls register, based on this data.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 30, 2004Publication date: September 21, 2006Inventors: Stefan Budach, Volker Lohweg, Bernd Stöber

Publication number: 20060001880Abstract: Material is inspected using a device that includes a sensor and an illumination unit. A test light is emitted by the illumination unit and is received by the sensor unit after reflecting off or shining through the material. This received light is evaluated in an evaluation unit. The illumination unit is provided with at least two light sources that emit test lights each having a different color. The sensor unit is provided with at least two color channels that are adapted to the different test lights of the light source.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2003Publication date: January 5, 2006Inventor: Bernd Stober

Publication number: 20050213822Abstract: An electronic image evaluating device includes at least one area sensor that is provided with a plurality of photosensitive pixels. Each of these pixels will emit an electric output signal in response to the light input signal that it receives. The intensity of the electric output signal correlates with the light input signal. This electric output signal is evaluated in an evaluation unit as image information. The pixels of the area sensor can be controlled and evaluated individually, or in groups. Any sector of the maximum monitorable scanning area can be selectively evaluated.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2003Publication date: September 29, 2005Inventor: Bernd Stober

Publication number: 20050157185Abstract: An electronic image sensor is used for evaluating an image. Several individual sensors, each of which is provided with several pixels, are utilized in the electronic image sensor. The pixels of at least one individual electronic image sensor are read out only in part. Individual image sectors are thus effectively masked to reduce the amount of image data to be processed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2003Publication date: July 21, 2005Inventors: Bernd Stober, Thomas Turke
