  • Patent number: 10395148
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transmitting print data, a server (120) and a mobile terminal (100). The invention further relates to a corresponding computer-readable storage medium. In the method, steps are carried out which include receiving the print job, conversion into the printer-specific format, saving the printer-specific format on another server (130), informing the mobile terminal (100) of the completed conversion, reporting the completed conversion to the user and, after confirmation from the user, transmitting the print data to the mobile terminal (100), in order to forward the print data in a last step to a printer (200) connected to the mobile terminal (100).

  • Patent number: 9122426
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to an arrangement for detecting printers that can be used by means of a wireless connection, a corresponding computer program, and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium that can be used in particular for printing in WLAN or Bluetooth environments. For this purpose, in order to detect printers that can be used from a data processing device by means of a wireless communication connection, it is proposed that the following steps be performed: performing a search for a printer (200) that provides an interface to a wireless network (1100), associating found printers (200) with registered printers and/or printer drivers, detecting installed printer drivers for associated printers, generating a list (800) of printers (210) that can be used by the terminal, wherein a found printer (200) for which an installed printer driver was detected is considered to be a usable printer (210).

  • Patent number: 8867061
Abstract: A method and a system for printing from web applications, as well as a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage means, are described. The method and system are particularly useful for improving the print functionality of web applications; e.g., by enabling printout of additional formats. It is proposed to provide on web pages a print option that can be controlled via data input means of a terminal. Activation of the print option causes a server executing the web application to send the data to be printed to a designated print server to start a print process on the print server, and to send the data generated by the print process from the print server to a network printer or to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 8314960
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for printing via application servers, as well as a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium, which can be used, in particular, for printing from UNIX and SAP servers to ICA/RDP clients (ICA=Independent Computing Architecture, RDP=Remote Desktop Protocol). Print support is provided in client-server architectures which include application servers (10), wherein an application server (1) is controlled from at least one client terminal (6) via at least one terminal server (4), and wherein a print order initiated by a user of the at least one client terminal (6) and started on the application server (1) is printed on a desktop printer (7) installed on the client terminal (6), on a network printer installed locally on the client terminal (6), and/or outputted via an optical interface of the client terminal (6).

  • Publication number: 20060250642
Abstract: A method and a system for printing data with a message-push-service are described. E-mail texts and e-mail attachments can be printed by message-push-enabled terminals, such as BlackBerry devices, via Bluetooth-enabled printers. Data received at a MSS (message signaling service) server are signaled to a terminal which can access the received data at the MSS server via a mobile radio link. The terminal sends a print request to the MSS server and/or to a data processing system that controls printing. A computer program installed on the MSS server/data processing system automatically initiates transmission of the requested data from the MSS server to a print server which generates print data. The print data are transmitted from the print server to the mobile terminal and from the mobile terminal to a selected printer, where the data are printed. A corresponding computer program and a computer-readable storage medium are also disclosed.
