Abstract: In order to improve a lathe comprising a machine frame, a spindle housing which is arranged on the machine frame and in which a workpiece spindle rotatable about a spindle axis is arranged, as well as at least one functional unit designed as a tool carrier and/or as a workpiece transport device in such a manner that as efficient a machining as possible of the workpiece is possible, it is suggested that the spindle housing be designed as an upright housing member, that the upright housing member be arranged on one side of a working space and border on it and that several functional units be arranged on the upright housing member.

Abstract: In order to use moved masses which are as small as possible in a machine tool, in particular for the rotary machining of workpieces, comprising a machine frame, a tool carrier, a workpiece carrier, it is proposed to provide a parallel kinematic arrangement, which has three parallelogram guides connected in an articulated manner at one end to a receiving means for one of the carriers and at the other end to a slide and an N/C-controlled linear drive for each slide and by which the carrier arranged on the receiving means is movable relative to the machine frame in a three-dimensional movement space.

Abstract: A transfer line with devices for conveying work pieces along the central bases, lateral bases set up along the sides of the central bases on which the processing units are mounted so as to be capable of displacement, and supply devices for the processing stations. In order to improve access to the transfer line and simplify component units, the following features are proposed: a) the supply devices along the direction of travel of the work pieces are arranged exclusively within or in the region of and/or above the central bases; b) the supply devices are connected to each processing station via short detachable connecting pieces; c) shut-off devices are provided at least in the main lines for hydraulics, lubrication, pneumatics etc.; and d) at least one control block with valves is provided between the shut-off devices and the processing station.
