  • Patent number: 6113161
Abstract: A motor vehicle door lock has a rotary latch with a holding recess formed in it. The rotary latch has a main catch with a catch surface formed on it. A key collar has a pin that is adapted to be received in the holding recess. A pivotally mounted detent pawl is biased in an engagement direction and has a catch lever having an opposing catch surface formed on it which is adapted to engage the catch surface of the main catch in a catch position. The catch lever and a support lever are pivotally mounted on an axle to pivot with respect to one another about an axis in the catch position in which the detent pawl is biased by a spring element into an extended position. An actuating element is disposed on the rotary latch, and the spring element cooperates with the actuating element to bias the detent pawl into the extended position when said actuating element engages the spring element.

  • Patent number: 5158330
Abstract: A motor veicle compartment closure lock with a locking wedge (2) attached on the closure, and lock elements attached on an opening frame for the closure. The locking wedge (2) can be retracted, in a powered way, from an extended, open position into a pushed-in, locked position and, for this purpose, is coupled by a lever mechanism (3) to a power transmission element (5) with a powered drive. The powered drive can be built especially small and light because the drive is made as a drive that operates only in one direction (locking direction) and returns automatically in the opposite direction. Power transmission element (5) is slaved or can be slaved to the locking wedge (2) in the locking direction and moves freely in the opposite direction. A shifting lever (6) is provided that is carried by the power transmission element (5) in the locking direction and is spring-loaded in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4948184
Abstract: Motor vehicle door lock or the like with a pivotally mounted locking catch (3), a pivotally mounted pawl (4) which blocks the locking catch (3) in a preliminary locking position and a main locking position, and with a locking mechanism (5) for operating the locking catch (3) and pawl (4). The locking mechanism (5) has an outside release lever (6), and when outside release lever (6) is operated, pawl (4) can swing into a release position freeing locking catch (3), e.g., by being lifted. The manipulation of the lock is improved since, in the opening movement, when the locking catch (3) is in the main locking position and the release lever (6) is operated, the pawl (4) is swung into the release position, where it is retained independently of the further operation condition of outside release lever (6) until the locking catch (3) has passed the preliminary locking position.
