  • Patent number: 8615984
Abstract: A device is provided for the distribution of flowable additives in exhaust gas systems of an internal combustion engine, in particular for the distribution of a water/urea mixture in an exhaust gas system of a diesel engine, having an injection device in particular opening into the exhaust tract before a so-called SRC catalytic converter, with a swirl generation device being provided for the improvement of the mixing of the exhaust gas with the additive in the introduction region of the additive in the exhaust tract.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 7, 2008
Date of Patent: December 31, 2013
Assignees: Friedrich Boysen GmbH & Co. KG, Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Heinz Kornherr, Michael Mueller, Klaus Schoenberger, Bernhard Aichhorn, Gert Barnstedt, Hans-Juergen Bruene
  • Patent number: 8601795
Abstract: A system assembly detects the amount of reducing agent and the amount of pollutant in an exhaust gas. The system assembly has a first pollutant sensor, which is cross-sensitive to the reducing agent, and is provided for emitting a first measuring signal proportional to the amount of pollutant in the exhaust gas for use in front of a filtering device for the selective reducing of the reducing agent or the pollutant in the exhaust gas. A second pollutant sensor, which is also cross-sensitive to the reducing agent, emits a second measuring signal proportional to the amount of pollutant in the exhaust gas for use behind the filtering device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 11, 2011
Date of Patent: December 10, 2013
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
