Abstract: A method and an arrangement of access to data by users in mobile communications networks which can be controlled. Data which is stored in one or more data memories in the mobile communications network for a user of the mobile communications network is addressed by a data processing device, after which a central control device in the mobile communications network uses predetermined checking criteria to check whether the data processing device is authorized to access such data, and the central control device allows access if the check result is positive.

Abstract: A method for obtaining presence data for processing in a presence computer, in which a communications terminal accesses a service computer to use a service which is offered by it. The service computer identifies the occurrence of a predetermined service state which identifies the communications subscriber and sends a presence message to the presence computer, which presence message includes information about the service state that has occurred and about the communications terminal.

Abstract: Terminals and applications which communicate with one another need to agree on a common protocol and data interchange format. Conversion functions are now offered as a separate service for widely differing formats and protocols in the network. Applications no longer need to support every standard, but can use the appropriate conversion service when required. A central entity is introduced in which the available converters register with this entity and store information about the protocols/formats which they can convert to one another. The central entity manages this information and makes it accessible to applications and terminals.

Abstract: A central entity for administering terminals of a user is introduced. Terminals of the respective user register with this entity and leave information on the manner in which applications can interact with them and the methods of information exchange which are supported by them (protocols, data exchange formats, address information). Applications initiating interaction with terminals inquire from the central entity via which terminals a certain user can be reached. As a result of the inquiry, the application (if it is authorized to receive this information) receives a list of the terminals of the user. This list includes address information and information on possible data exchange formats and protocols supported by the terminal for each terminal.
