  • Patent number: 4324369
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a double-drum winder for winding and for then ejecting a wound roll of web material and transferring the same to a delivery table. Adjacent to the double-drums on which the roll is wound there is a transfer table which is movable between a horizontal position where it can receive the wound roll from the double drums and a vertical position where the upstanding table blocks undesired movement of the wound roll past the transfer table. An ejecting device moves the wound roll to the transfer table. The transfer table is on a swivel mount so placed that the transfer table pivots away from the drums as it swivels up from its horizontal to its vertical positions. The swivel axis of the transfer table is on a swivel mount that is supported for limited vertical movement. A lock holds the swivel mount vertically up and it is spring-biased down against the lock.

  • Patent number: 4304368
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a two-drum winder for the winding of an endlessly fed web. Two parallel carrier drums define a carrier drum bed in which a roll to be wound is supported. Upon completion of winding of a roll, the roll is lifted, a web cutting device presses the web against the raised wound roll, air is blown in the feed direction of the web for forming a loop of the web over the second carrier drum in the feed direction. Additional air is directed up between the carrier drums for assisting in the loop formation. A pressing roller on the cutting device presses the loop against the second carrier drum and continued rotation of the second carrier drum draws the looped web tight against a knife in the cutting device for cutting the web. The newly leading end of the web continues to be blown by the loop forming air flow which flattens the web. Then an air flow blows the newly cut leading end of the web counter to the web feed direction onto a new winding core supported in the carrier bed.

  • Patent number: 4135674
Abstract: A plurality of webs are simultaneously wound upon a plurality of tubular cores supported in a row upon a roll rod; a pair of double-armed, rotatable levers supports the roll rod at a winding station while the webs are being wound; then the lever pivots the roll rod and the wound rolls to a delivery station where the roll rod is removed from the cores and the wound rolls are then delivered; simultaneously the lever pivots another roll rod and new cores from the delivery station to the winding station.
