  • Patent number: 5228907
Abstract: Radiopaque, abrasion-resistant tooth fillings and inlays that can be polished to a high gloss can be made from a dental material that, in addition to monomeric dimethacrylates, contains a filler mixture of 80 to 90 weight % barium aluminum silicate glass, having a mean particle size of 0.5 to 1.5 .mu.m, and 10 to 20 % weight silicon dioxide, having a mean particle size of 0.04 to 0.06 .mu.m. The dental material is also suitable for anchoring dental prostheses.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 7, 1991
Date of Patent: July 20, 1993
    Assignee: Heraeus Kulzer GmbH
Inventors: Regina Eppinger, Bernhard Eppinger, Detlef Heindl, Peter J. Kohler, Joachim Fritze
  • Patent number: 5089051
Abstract: Adhesion promoters containing (meth)acryloyloxyethyl dihydrogen phosphate and/or di(meth)acryloyloxyethyl hydrogen phosphate and acidic (meth)acryloyloxyethyl esters of carboxylic acids can improve the adhesion of photopolymerizable tooth materials to the enamel and dentine. The very strong bonding to the dentine immediately after curing proves to be particularly advantageous.

Date of Patent: February 18, 1992
    Assignee: Heraeus Kulzer GmbH
Inventors: Bernhard Eppinger, Regina Eppinger, Roland Schaefer
  • Patent number: 4640936
Abstract: A dental composition which when used together with a photopolymerizable dental sealing composition promotes adhesion of resin-based dental restorative materials to the tooth consisting ofa solution of (i) at least one phosphate selected from the group consisting of methacryloyloxyethyl dihydrogen phosphate and bis-(methacryloyloxyethyl) hydrogen phosphate and (ii) a photopolymerization catalyst comprising camphor quinone and an amine, in acetone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 21, 1985
Date of Patent: February 3, 1987
    Assignee: Kulzer & Co. GmbH
    Inventors: Ralf Janda, Bernhard Eppinger
